How to lose faith in a Magazine
« on: May 02, 2013, 12:01:30 PM »
I know it's not the bastion of muscle science, but seriously....

"How to pound your chest" article, and the exercise is Close Grip Benching with Blocks.

Again, it's why I never pick up a magazine.

I'm not saying it's not a good exercise, but when a magazine titles an article on working a specific muscle group, then writes the article on a different muscle group, I tend to lose faith in the magazine.

As for the exercise, if you haven't worked off of blocks when benching, give it a shot, it certainly helps on working your lockouts.

I hear ya, DerAlta. I stopped reading Men's Health because of articles like that one and the one in one of the last issues I read that advised, "A full power snatch is useless for most people, so just stop at the shoulders."
