Hmmm.... I'm in southeaster MA, but given enough notice, I might be interested.  It'd be fun to have and IS contingency at the event.

I'm shooting for July 2014, planned events are Husafel carry, weight for distance throw, weight over bar throw, log press, deadlift...all subject to change depending on how expensive this gets. Husafel is a big stone shaped vaguely like a shield that you wrap your arms around and walk with. Log press is performed as a clean and as many press reps as you can get with the specified weight...don't know yet what that will be. I need to do some more research.

There will be no weight classes. Either you can do it, or you can't. LOL

Specific training is...well, for the most part, picking up heavy things, walking with them or throwing them.

I'm hoping to feed people who are hungry, so everything beyond recouping partial cost for trophies and t-shirts will go to the regional food pantry.

The viking funeral party is going to be a...well, a viking funeral only with no one dead. I just want to play loud music, wrestle, drink beer, dance, and burn a longboat on my pond...maybe not burn the boat. I don't want to contaminate my pond, but beer, wrestling, and music...yeah.

Roughly Oneonta. It's actually right outside of Cobleskill.

Competition (hopefully) at Maranatha with the after party to be held at my house.

Hmmm.... roughly 4 hours for me.  Depending on when my Mid-Summer meet is, I'd be seriously interested in making the trip.
