So... Gene is on Wikipedia

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gene_Rychlak

Seemed rather sparse so I added this:

Mr Rychlak later founded the Revolution Powerlifting Syndicate, a Powerlifting Syndicate developed "For lifters, by lifters." The Syndicate is unique in that no membership fee is required to enter the events. RPS also doesn't allow swearing at the events despite the constant heavy metal music and lifters setting world records. Gene would give a 1st warning and stop a meet to eject a lifter of any ability from his family friendly meets.

At the time of his death on July 26, 2019 his Wife and Partner Ame posted this notice to Facebook:

"Some of you may know that Gene had a heart condition. This morning it took its last beat. Gene is now at rest and is reunited with his mother and beloved dogs. As prepared as someone can be when a loved one has a life threatening condition, nothing can prepare you for them suddenly not being here. Gene's life, out life is powerlifting. Even though these are the worst circumstances for those who love him, The RPS PA State Championships and GPC Summer Qualifier will continue as scheduled is his honor. There are no plans to cancel any meets based on his passing. This is what he would want. We may have started RPS, but its legacy belongs to the lifters. ~Ame"

Very Nice.

I may add a few more notes as well.

Thanks, Bando for finding that.

First guy to bench a grand should be on there.

I remember helping him unload his truck one day and having a conversation about it with him. Never really got the credit he deserved on that one.
