It is always a pleasure to lift with Lisa and Flex, and huge thanks to Dave for coming out, cheering and helping

There were some absolutely amazing lifts at this meet. Mad respect to Flex for scaring the crap out of everyone and then walking off like a boss and continuing on at the meet.
My day was a mixed bag. I've been having some troubles with my bad hip in the least week or so, and warming up for squats I felt really lopsided. Oddly enough, once I was out on the platform I felt fairly even, and my greatest problem was sinking my depth waaaaaayyyy too deep again. Put up an easy 255 as an opener, failed 275 as a too-deep second attempt, came back with 275 as a successful third attempt, with Flex calling depth for me and got it that time. It was a good thing he called it, I initially forgot he was there until I heard him shout out and was like OH YEAH! If it hadn't been for that, I would have just kept right on going again, lol.
I was very disappointed in my bench. My strength was fine, I just made stupid mistakes. My opener at 135 was really easy. My second attempt at 145 went up fast as well, but my butt came off the bench a little, so it was redlighted. I opted for 150 as a third, but somewhere in between struggling with the weight and trying to NOT let my butt come up, I strained the lower left side of my back. So I only got 135 on bench, and was worried I'd knocked myself out of commission on deads because initially, my back was really bothering me. I wound up rolling out my lower back with my lacrosse ball, and between that and quite a long break in between bench and deads, luckily it did ease up.
Deads were great. I completely screwed up the timing of my warm-ups. Initially I started warming up 45 minutes too early until someone pointed out it was too early, so I went back out to the meet and sat down. Then I came back later to start warming up again, and was just moving too leisurely, before I knew it I was four people out. So I wound up jumping from a 255 warm up lift to 325 as an opener on the platform. Oops. 325 launched up though, which may make me reconsider how much I should warm up for deads at future meets, lol. I went to 340 as a second, it felt a little grungy off the ground but moved fast after that, for a new all-time PR. And of course I just had to try for 350 as a third, because... well... 350. I didn't get it. But I actually got the darned thing moving, it got stuck, I got it moving again, then it got stuck a second time and I just didn't have anything left. But I think that one isn't too far away

I got one heck of a CNS buzz from the attempt though, lol.
Ultimately I went 275/135/340 for a total of 750, which is +20 from my previous meet total. Looks like I'll need to start chasing 800 at future meets, and I'll get a good chunk of the way there the second I learn how to KEEP MY BUTT ON THE BENCH
