Blood All Over the Iron Ver2.0
« on: February 28, 2017, 10:45:05 PM »
February 28, 2017

Hello.
I have written many previous journal entries and opened a few online journals but none so hard as this.
Today I return to online journaling in humble defeat and with the acknowledgment that journaling did indeed help my adherence to the very least, a proper meal plan.
I was once fat, lost the fat, competed in 6 drug tested competitions, got sick, got fat again, got better, now I want to get lean again.
Lean enough to compete again.
I require TRT, that's why I got "sick". It was a freakin' horrible way to live in retrospect.
But things are better now.
I got no more excuses as to why I can't.

I've been lifting for...had to do the math for a sec. (lol)...
28+ years.
At the very least, I'd like to think by this point I know what works for me.

The goal.
A complete fukking transformation.
I don't know what weight I want as I've never been lean, healthy, and had 3 years to bring up my weak points.
Eventually I want to find a life style that supports walking around with abs all the time and then set a dead line for a contest.

I have done this before.
I'm going to do it again.

My fault does not lie with training nor cardio
my faults lie with eating properly. That is where I lack consistency.

I'm here to make myself more accountable even if no one views this.
I wrote it, I tend to stand by my word, and by doing this 1st step I make myself accountable to me.

I weighed myself today but I will not share it here, now. I have my own reasons.
My macro targets are 300 grams of Carbs, 300 Pro., 65 Fat.
This is coming from no macro targets and will be adjusted as the weight does or does not come off.

My training...is complicated but with reason.
I am doing my own program based off of German Volume Training.
It goes like this;

I have a body part or muscle group in mind, I pick 1-2 compound exercises that work well for me, I warm up, I do my 10x10's using progressive overload so things don't stagnate
and then
I ramp up the weights to maintain my strength and shoot for 2-3 sets for 1-6 reps to failure.

Cardio...my weapon of choice is going to be the elliptical trainer for now.
30 min. post or pre-weight training, 45. on non-weight training days.

I will weigh myself every week on Monday and report back whether it was a gain or loss.

Eventually I will feel comfortable enough to share pics, I have before here.
For now all I want to share is my commitment and work.

My username is Fiend_73
My 1st name is Brian.

I'm here to stamp out my own weakness.

I arrive at the gym pissed.
or
I arrive at the gym completely fukking focused.

-take your pick

Arms

reverse grip cable extensions--- mmmmmk, this isn't what I really call these exercises, these are "Rolldowns", you simply roll your tricep down with a handle attached to a cable
Forever after I will call these "Rolldowns" as I was training when a lot of these exercises were discovered and before the gott damned civilians started lifting "weights" these were called "Rolldowns"
and I'm not gonna back down from any new age fancy dancy        bullsheeee at        lingo when they all these modern age "lifters" do is throw fake weights on an Olympic bar, wear 3 layers of support sh*t that resembles gym lingerie, do 3 sets of 6 with 5 lbs. on the bar
AND CALL IT A WORKOUT
That sh*t
don't fly with me.
You work mutherphucker,
you work until you bleed and then you work some more because you want it so bad you're willing to pay the hefty price for it like real men do when they want something with all of their freakin' soul.

Like VINDIGNATION.

I did not do freaking "reverse grip cable extensions" for fawks sakes.
I did Rolldowns got dammit.

Rolldowns!
20x76
-fawk this shit, bring on the 10x10's

10x150x10(sets)
(+10 lbs. from last session)
11,500 total -this is where sh*t gets interesting over time ;)

6x205(the stack)
I dropped that stack and stared at it, then I talked to it (srs)
"You've been pwned, bi*tch"

I don't count my peak strength sets towards my 10x10 total.

1 down, 1 to go

Hammer Strength Preacher Curl
hereon known as
"Hammer Preachers"-cuz that sounds cooler  ;D

10x85x10
(+5 lbs. from last session)
8,500 total

6x115
1x135-that's three 45's on that fukker thing

I was willing to tear a tendon for an extra .1 ounce of muscle.
Geez, the kinda sh*t that hits you after you do it.

 ::)

Done.

Elliptical
30 minutes

And that is how I started.

Thank-you brother!

I did.
The word slop comes to mind.

Well, you got my attention.....  :)

I don't know how but I'll take it!

It appears from this computer (I haz 2) I cannot post properly to bb.com (can't rep people, can't reply)
but
I can post here without issue.
Because
IS > bb.com
And I can discuss TRT here so I will have more dirt here than there.

just an FYI

Not much to say about this, its cardio.

45 min. Elliptical

Mar. 2

By 11:30 A.M I had worked 9 hours, gotten up 4 kids for school that have mental health issues, driven 2 of them to school, drove back to my own city, trained, did cardio, didn't f*kc up my diet, and avoided getting 3 traffic violation tickets after I was pulled over by the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police).

Fawk I was lucky.
I was in the wrong.
I'd call it a full day but must go back to work in a few hours for another 15 hour stint.

I can't tell if I'm still shaky from the weights or the po po.

Back Width
-I must explain this I'm still "new here".
I'm a bb'er at heart, when you compete you must present 2 parts of the back, thickness and width.
I have 2 separate training days to do both. 1 day is back width, another is back thickness.

TBH, my back is not my weak point but it once was and isn't any more because I train 2 separate days for it.
This is one of them body parts I'm willing to "maintain" and eek out a few extra centimeters before my muscle building days are over.
Hence, I rarely do peak sets for back width and prefer a volume approach.

Now my weapons of choice for this modified Fiend GVT are "fake pull ups"- counter weighted pull ups
and
"kneeling reverse narrow grip Pull Downs"
^^^I literally made this up on my own and here is a vid of me doing them awhile back;

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLP_TcLQkNw

As we can see when I bring it down, the outside of the lat contracts, exactly what I want for front lat spreads and the "relaxed" pose.

Fake Pull Ups are currently no doable doing GVT even with the stack counter balanced. I do not have the endurance, yet.
So I've been going for 10 sets of 7, then 8's, and today I'm trying 10 sets of 9.
After I reach 10x10 and my weight comes off, I can start taking counter balanced weight off and eventually do "real" Pull Ups for 10x10.
That would be a perfect goal for me imo.
If I could do a 10x10 with those that would give me a solid back to go on stage with not many could touch.

Here we go, enough jawing;

BW

"Fake" Pull Ups--no warm up, this is gonna be brutal to finish and I need every molecule of energy for this

9x-205x10
after set 5 things got real shaky for reps 7-10, and got worse every set after.
But now I got an online journal and being a pussy is not an option.

I DGAF about weight volume here, I want that 10x10 with no counter weight.

keeling reverse narrow grip Pull Downs- I gotta come up with a better name for these...maybe "Demon Hoodz"?--if you ever do it you'll know why
10x205(stack)x10

20,500 lbs. total.
1 exercise.
Over 20k lifted in less than 10 minutes.
Sumthin' tells me I'm not doing wrong.

Now the sh*t kicker
cardio
...the excuses not to do cardio started by set 6 of the Demon Hoodz, they persisted all the way until minute 30 was done on that damn elliptical.

I can tell my diet has kicked in.
Random erratic sh*tting patterns have commenced.

If you've ever read one of my journals before you'll come to have expected comments like the one above.
Do not expect sanity from me.

Lol'ing on the "sh*tting". Same boat as I'm cutting and my "contemplate the universe" time is erratic.

Interested for the next back installment as I'm curious what you do for thickness.

LOL, I never heard that expression before.
I'm ok with shitting at erratic times, as it means I'm losing weight and causing a problem with my body's homeostasis.

As for the next back thickness day, I don't know yet either. I give myself a few options for mainstays and tend to chose between them. Depends how my injured back is feeling.
btw, thanks.

Legs - By far my best body part. I need/ed to grow everything else to match my legs. This is one area where I occasionally skip on purpose and some times don't train them any where near max capacity.

I fukking talk/write/think too much, like I need to explain myself...all I really wanted to do this A.M was get it done and out of the way.

Squats
20x45 (bar), 12x135

10x195x10
(+10 lbs. from last session)

1x315, 1x405, 3x405 (+1 rep from last session)

"Power Squat" machine, Plate Weight Only (PWO)
10x720 (max weight that can be added)

Calf Raises done on the power squat machine
3x15x720

20 min Elliptical

I'm getting that shaky feeling that you can only get by a good gym azz kicking on leg day.
I'm drenched with sweat, I no longer walk, I waddle like a 600 lb. fat man and I feel like a space cadet.

I've made progress since last leg day. That's what counts.
and this training session was a real slobberknocker despite the relatively light squatting weight.
I like that term "slobberknocker". I got it from wrestling.

Might hit the gym tonight for more cardio...because my life is so freakin' thrilling that how I roll on a Friday night.

Back Thickness

Good Mornings (aka Good A.M's)
20x45(bar    -anyone who calls it a fucking pole is a fukwad)
10x135
10x195x10
      (+10 lbs. from last session)
1x225, 2x315, 1x365, 3x365

Hammer Strength Row- PWO
10x300x5 sets
+10 lbs. from last time, -5 sets

30 min Elliptical

The row was a finisher, I had no intention of doing 10x10's with it after Good A.M's.

I write this the day after and my back is sore as fawk in all the right areas.

45 minutes of bum fukking cardio on the elliptical.

I am very sore and there is a point of diminishing returns with weight training.
Nothing could be hit without aggravating something else.

Unlike certain youtubers who would demand I fight through that sh*t, I laugh.
Unless you are willing to pay for it some where down the road, you cannot rush certain things...
especially of you're natty
kinda.  ;)

Ugh, good mornings... They still spook me because of issues I had with my lower back years ago (prior to getting back into weight lifting).
Diggin' the rows though.
I bet you're sore, not sure I'd be able to get out of bed after all that  :o

Oh, and answered your question in my journal (MRI that is).
