Thanks Dave. The issue is still there it just seems to depend on the day. It is good to know if I concentrate real hard I can push past it. That and wraps seem to help.

Final deadlift day today. It went well other than my math skills seem to suck today.  Just meant a few more warm up reps.

JC week 5

warm ups

Deadlifts

135 x 10
225 x 6
295 x 3 thought it was 315  but forgot to add the 10's
345 x 1 same here, thought it was 365. It felt light and that's when I realized my mistake.
365 x 1
385 x 1
405 x 1 got real dizzy on this one rep. Didn't pass out though

working set

415 x 4 (1-4) Ugly but I got my 4 reps. Oddly I didn't get dizzy at this weight. I never can figure out why it happens sometimes and not others. As long as I don't pass out on Saturday I'm good.

That's it. Final bench coming soon.

Well the weekend is over and the meet is done. Had a great time with the IS crew in attendance. I didn't get a good chance to really see Dave or Bando lift cause we were so close in the same flight but some PR's were had and a few redemption lifts were made. Which is awesome. Seeing Shawn get his redemption for the state record on squats was fantastic, and watching Jim smash pr's and records on all his lifts was absolutely fantastic. You're a strong mofo FLEX (Alex, if you're reading this I think you're in trouble    :stirthepot:) . Thanks to John for the liftoff's in bench. Always a pleasure to hear your coaching advice. And the best cheerleader in the crowd, thanks to Miss Lisa for filming my lifts.

I went 8 for 9, set a pr on my squat which I'm happy with considering how things have been going. I didn't have much warm up either. 135x5 185 x 5 225 x 1 and was up. I need to start timing this better. It does seem to work though so maybe not. Bench and deads weren't as good as last year but not too far off. I took some big swings at my deadlift attempts and got them all.

squats

315 / 340 / 360 pr

Bench

270 / 275 / 285 fail

Deadlift

415 / 435 / 465

That's it. Had a great weekend hanging out and lifting. On to bigger and better lifts next year.

I had a look at the records and apparently I have the state record for all three lifts and total at the 220 weight class from last year and now the same at 198. Who'd a thunk it. I may have to lift here in Canada in June to have those record too ;D
In case you're wondering it's police/fire am raw modern 40-45 class.

Great meet Rich, so killer how you bounced back from the troubles in training with your squat and accomplished a PR on the platform. 300 Bench and 500 dead is yours next year. Iím calling it.  ;D

Looked like a great time out there

Thanks guys. It was a great meet...but the journey to next year starts today. I gave it a week to rest the legs. Back to 531. Going to try implementing some of Cailer Woolam's accessory lifts into it this time. 400/300/500 next year is the goal.

Still having the leg issues but hopefully I can power through it.

531 w1 d1

deads

170 x 5
210 x 5
255 x 3

275 x 5
315 x 5
360 x 6    5+

highbar squats beltless

135 x 10 x 5  I could feel the leg but it wasn't bad at all

bb shrugs

225 x 10
275 x 10
275 x 10

ab rollouts

bw x 10 x 3

that's it. Can't say it felt great getting back in but I'm sure it'll get better

Great session back Rich! Strong pulls out of the gate. Watched that Woolam accessory vid, some legit stuff in there!
My training was rough as shit since the meet but we have a long way to go until next year, you are off to a good start.

Third day back since the comp. Squats :o Actually went well and the leg held up fine. No weakness detected when descending. It was comparatively light but I was feeling it as light as 135 before so hopefully this is a good sign. I'm going to try out hook grip for a while to see how that goes. It wasn't bad today but again it was light weights but higher reps. I figure it's a good way to work up to it. Leg curls sucked. I haven't done them in a long time and I was going to finish with ab rolls but I could barely do 1. I feel okay but I guess my core didn't like them from the first time. I'll get used to them again and everything should be fine.

531 w1d3

warm ups

squats

110 x 5
135 x 5
165 x 3

180 x 5
205 x 5
230 x 10 (5+) I really need to work on conditioning.

DL's  hook grip beltless

210 x 5 x 10

leg curl PWO

750 x 3 x 10

Ab rolls

fail :S

That's it. Benching tomorrow.

Been away from the computer for a while so a couple updates to follow. Things have been okay so far. Nothing outstanding but that's okay.

531 w1 d4

warm ups

Bench

100 x 5
125 x 5
150 x 3

165 x 5
190 x 5
215 x 10    5+

seated ohp

70 x 5 x 10

woollam rows

225 x 3 x 10

These are different for sure. Gotta get used to the movement. I can see how there can be benefits though.

Dips

BW + 45 x 3 x 10

That's it for week 1

531 W2 D1

warm ups

Deadlifts

170 x 5
210 x 5
255 x 3

295 x 3
335 x 3
380 x 5    3+

Used hook grip all the way through the sets. It actually went really well. Hands are pretty chewed up though.

Highbar squats

135 x 5 x 10

Felt better this time. Getting used to the highbar movement again.

Shrugs

275 x 3 x 10

Ab Rollouts

bw x 3 x 10

That's it for the start of week 2. On a good note the leg seems to be better.
