Seems like a smart way to do programming. And the down sets being based off the single seems like a great way to use RPE. Good stuff Dave

Squats rpe 8
1 x 295 rpe about a 9
5 x 245
5 x 245
5 x 245
5 x 245

2 Count Paused Bench rpe 9
4 x 205
4 x 205
4 x 205
4 x 205

Paused Deads rpe 8

7 x 225
7 x 225
7 x 225
7 x 225

My goal is to open with 295 in April.  It felt pretty good.  First time in a good 3 weeks I've had that much on my back.  Rep was close to depth might have been a touch high but I'll be good with that in April for sure.

I'm loving the look of your workouts Dave.  Keeping it simple and getting it done man.  Nice job all the way around there.  You're going to roll swole into April. :D

Wow Dave. Looks like you've had an eventful couple of weeks. That sucks about the accident. Glad it wasn't too serious. Looks like a nice simple workout plan to get you to the comp. I'll be following along with interest. How are you liking it so far?

Thanks guys.  Got a couple more training sessions in since last post.  Work, life etc and haven't been in the journals very much other than a quick scan through.   Still training and getting pumped for April :)

Keep on keeping on there Dave! :)  Training and getting pumped for a comp is a winning combo.

Hey guys, yeah still training.  Had an awesome squat session the other day and a shitty deadlift session yesterday. We're heading off to Ottawa and Quebec City for a few days over March Break so I'll start the journal up again when I start my peak on the 16th.  Shawn wrote out a peaking program  based off of what I'm already doing and he's pretty strict with his nagging and making sure I stick to it ;D  It'll be good!

Glad you're still at it and moving forward. :)  Have a good trip.  Looking forward to seeing your progress when you peak...and to getting a peak (no pun intended) at Shawn's programming for you.

Trip went well.  First time in a week under the bar.  Did some db stuff at the hotel gym but nothing much.  Doms are gonna be real tomorrow.  Just did some squats, 2 count pause bench and paused deads today.  Peak will start next week.

Got my last regular training session in today.  Today was the best day I've had all week. I got a 385 deadlift that went up slower than I'd have liked it to as I was aiming for rpe 8 and it was definitely a 9 but hit some volume after and I'm very confident I'll have no problem opening with that next month.  Assistance work today was touch n' go bench, sling shot bench and front squats.

Day 1 of my peak begins this Friday with Comp squats, 2 count pause bench and pause deads.
