Squats looked pretty easy. No lingering affects from the injury? Glad things are healed for you. Full speed ahead now.

Everything was a grind TBH but we got it in. Kitchen is getting closer, finished installing all but one cabinet today, we got the counter measured yesterday so just waiting for it to get cut.

Crikey! I remember installing sheetrock overhead and then mudding, tapping and sanding. I couldn't lift my arms that night and I was 15 years younger!

Serious props on remodeling AND keeping up the full lifting Shawn!!

Nice work Shawn. I noticed you switched cgbp to right after flat bench. Does this affect your weights? I understand it simplifies setup.

Tsa w3d1
Morning Weight: 180

Well....here we go again. On Saturday I was installing the kick plates on my cabinets, lying on the floor, I got up with my knee in a weird position and POP went my MCL on my left leg and down I went. FAAAAAK! Just got my left leg healthy again then blew out my knee. Itís probably not that bad, it hurts, itís swollen and slightly bruised. Anyways, squats were put on the bench again tonight

Squats: supposed to be 310 5x5

Hip circle side steps, monster walks and glute bridges
SLDLís 135 x 6
Voodoo floss band knee
Bunch of single leg BW stuff, stepups, lunges, etc
(Did all this while Drew hit his 5x5)

Lat pulldowns

Bench:
Bar x 10 of CGBP/Ultrawide/comp
95 x 3
135 x 5
185 x 4

Program Sets:
220 x 7
220 x 7 LR paused
220 x 7 LR paused
220 x 7 @8.5

CGBP:
205 x 6
185 x 6
190 x 6
190 x 6 @9

Weighted pull-ups:
+50 wide x 6 (bugging shoulder)
+50 hammergrio x 6
+50 HG x 6
+50 HG x 6

Dun

Notes: well obviously not impressed with the knee injury right after the adductor. Tried to do BW squats but too much pressure on the inside of my knee to get close to depth. Knee also feels pretty unstable.
Bench went well for a change, no overhead work in a few days and been eating lots as I was back at the hospital for 2 shifts.
Back in Pansy mode FFS, ah well, itís not a brain tumour

shit I just realized how far behind I am in my responses. Really sorry, been so damn busy. Rich, ya I think I would be much stronger if I did CGBP in the order the program lays it out, but just find it easier to do all my pressing first then hit the deads and rows on the platform after.
Kitchen is getting close. Basically, paint, counters, tile the back splash, new sink and trim left. All cabinets, under cabinet lighting, new lights etc are in and looking tight! I see the end coming soon!

Sorry to hear about the knee. It's always something stupid. You could deadlift a 1000lbs but move one 25 lb plate wrong and you're bedridden for a week.

Nice work on the bench though.

With such a short list of things to do you should be able to bang that out in an hour or two and then put up the knee and have a few recovery beers 🍺

That really sucks about the left knee Shawn. A quick perusal of some PT shows anywhere from 4-6 weeks for healing if its a partial tear or 2-3 if it's just a strain. Hope it heals up quick for you!

Thanks Rich, ya the knee was a dumb injury. More pissed at the timing, was just starting to get my squat together again and now I have another setback. Ah well, keep doing what I can do in the mean time, not like I am dying lol.
Should get most of the kitchen stuff done from Thursday through Sunday on my offdays, looking forward to the finishing touches!

Thanks Eric, ya thatís what I read as well. Itís a fairly good blood flow fed area and should heal well on its own.

Waking Weight after nights: 181

Hip circle side steps, monster walks and glute thrusts
DB SLDLís and RDLís

Deads:
135 x 6
225 x 4
315 x 2 (wrapped knee here)
405 x 1

Program Sets:
440 x 4 vid
440 x 4
440 x 4
440 x 4 (vid messed up) @9

Bench:
Bar x 10 of CGBP/Ultrawide/comp
135 x 5
185 x 3
225 x 1

Program Sets:
235 x 5
235 x 5
235 x 5
235 x 5
235 x 3 gassed out

Pendlay Rows:
135 x 6
250 x 6
250 x 6
250 x 6
250 x 6 @9

Dun:

Notes: well happy the knee was ok for deads. I wrapped it up and wore my SBD on it for my heavier sets and it went ok. In the vid you can see I was a bit tentative on the first set, was a bit worried about lockout on the knee. It went fine and each set after got better. Heavy but good, last set my vid didnít work.
Bench was ok at the start but gassed out at the end. Going to adjust my program weights down a bit, I was very aggressive adding 10lbs this cycle that I didnít earn with hopes of sitting at a BW around 190 right now...then came the kitchen lol. All good, just donít want to be grinding my way through and missing reps.
Pendlays were strong.

Glad the knee was ok for you Shawn. Guess you'll have to test it for squats though. Hopefully it's not serious. Good effort on the bench. I'm not surprised you're tuckered with all the overhead work. Must be catching up to you.

Really sucks about the knee.  I hope it heals fast and complete.  You're making the best of it with those pulls though!

That's what I've noticed when having a knee strain, DL is okay but squats are out. I can also hit up leg press if I keep my knees straight. I think the key is keeping the knees straight as it doesn't put pressure on the outside/inside of the knee joint.

Thanks guys, been out of the gym the last few days. After that deadlift session my knee was killing me on my nightshift and the next day. I spent 3 days hitting the kitchen hard and itís looking great. Backsplash up and all tiled, looks tight.
Motivation to train is in the negatives. Think this second injury fukked with my head more than I thought. Going to hit it tomorrow after work, doubt I can squat but Iíll do something anyway and the rest of the program Sets.

Them feels I know.

Honestly, I'd just wing it for a bit, get yourself healed up, then attack something after the holidays. Just my .02.
