New Bike
« on: May 24, 2016, 07:51:06 PM »
Well, it's a used bike, but I just got a mountain bike, so I can go trail riding.

There are two parks in my town with bike trails, and alas, my hybrid is not durable enough to handle them, so I just ordered a Giant Anthem 2

I'm excited.

Nice.

Lisa and I both have new (sort of) Giant bikes.  I have a Roam 2 and she has Cypress LX

Nice bike. I have a Fuji that I bought back in 2010 and have ridden maybe 15 times.  :(

Just like this one.

Just gave my Trek Remedy 7 2009 to a friend of mine in CT...

No more 6'+ drops, log riding and other kick ass technical rides for me, not up here in VT at least.

My move to VT crippled my enjoyment of MTB riding. Unfortunate, it sort of saved me in a sense as it was what got me back in shape, and got me through some rough times. Checking out my pics on FB from some old rides, really kind of depressed me.. lol.. used to spend 4-5 hours out there at times.

We had a 26 mile MTB ride I made once, challenging as fucking hell, and this was not just a nice rolling single track, technical climbs, technical downhills...  fun times and I was way out of my league.

Helped me get from a fat 220, down to a lean 180 (when I had first gotten back into all this, and started my account on bb.com, 2009/2010). Now, I am at 220, but, it's quite different :)

Wish I was in CT sort of, as these rides where just such a stress relief and soo damn enjoyable. And, tackling some of the technical challenges, always so rewarding.

Anyhow, I have to get back to work here...     blah...   I want my bike back now. hah.

I actually got pretty damn good too...

So jelly! I wish we had places to ride here but we have no public trails around here to ride much less decent places on streets or roads. We have a place where our city boat landing is and a stadium a lot of people walk and ride but there have been 2 rapes down there on the backside where people ride. No thanks!

Nice.  I haven't seen a rear suspension like that before.

I bike a lot, but on the roads.  Several of my co-workers tail ride, but I've never gotten into it.  Maintaining a road bike is expensive enough, I don't need to start breaking a bike on trails :)

1. Where are the pedals?
2. This site has a cardio and fitness section?

My thoughts exactly!  ;D

Awesome bike, I want to get back to cycling. It's cardio that doesn't bore the hell out of me.

That was a pic from the seller. The pedals weren't on it for some reason, but it does have pedals.

I've been trail riding on my new bike twice so far. The bike is nice and fast, but my mountain biking skills are pretty bad. I kind of fly around on it like Taz from Looney Tunes, but it's been pretty fun, and it hasn't interfered w/ my lifting recovery at all, which is good.

May take it out tomorrow since it will be in the 70s (rest of the week will be in the 90s- too hot for me).
