This was my last "heavy" bench work out prior to the meet next week.  I'm not real happy with either set.  Both sets are 310x2.  Weight moved well enough, but I feel like I need to do better to get white lights.  I'm planing on going 300,315,325 at the meet.  Once again any suggestions, or criticism would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Looked good to me; just don't do that double bounce thing at the meet.

I'll echo what Flex said.  Looks good, but don't do that bounce when you touch your chest. It'll get you a red light for skipping a command, or up/down movement of the bar.

Thanks guys.  I've been fighting to not do that bounce. Flex picked up on it in a video last month.  I don't even realize when I do it.  I feel like I'm holding back on pushing the weight for fear of my butt coming up, and bouncing in the hole.  Just need to think tight thoughts.

Four days to go to my next meet and sitting at 195lbs, and feeling better prepared than I ever have for a meet.  I'm not going to do anything earth shattering, but should be some nice pr's.  The plan is 405,455,475 squat, 300,315,325 bench, and 455,515,530+ deadlift.  Might adjust my deadlift opener depending on how close to breaking 1300 I am. My second squat and second deadllift will be records for this epf in my state, and they're my records @ 198 masters I.   Should be fun.

Had a great meet. Went 8 for 9. 475 squat, 315 bench, and 530 deadlift for a nice 1,320 198 masters 1.  Missed a 325 bench attempt.

from what I could tell (2 vids were upside down and my player kept crashing) looks like you had some in the tank on that final squat and I'm surprised you didn't get the 325 bench.

Those plates are beautiful.

Congrats, that's a great total, great day with the iron.

My flight moved too fast, and I just wasn't mentally ready for the third bench. Just didn't man up.

I felt like everything went right for this meet.  I've been training for a meet for what seems like forever.  Supposed to do the April meet that got sold out, May meet that got cancelled, and finally June 4.  The other thing that finally clicked and for some reason it took six meets for me to figure out was that the meet is where I find out where I'm at.  Sounds dumb, but I lacked the confidence to realize that.  I was so insecure that I wanted to know what I could lift before I got there.  This time I trusted the training, and though I felt like I could have gone heavier on the squats I had only done 445 for a double in training, and I usually stress out too much over the squats.  It can make or break the rest of the day, so I'm glad I held back and the 475 felt as easy as I hoped it would.  There was a young guy there who was much bigger and much stronger than me, but I out lifted him by a good margin.  He got a little carried away with his squat attempts and it ruined his day.

My plan for the rest of the year is to do some ego lifting over the summer and focus on arms for the first time in forever.  October I plan on doing a local RPS meet and doing deadlift only.  My wife is away on a "girls weekend" when that meet happens and I'll have all three of my kids.  I figure I can entertain them long enough for me to get in there deadlift and then we can bail.  Then, in December I'll do the Saturday after Christmas meet with EPF again.  It will be a full meet and that's where I'm going over 5 hundo on the squats.  Should be fun.

For that Meet in October (Mendon), I have two clients competing. I'll be sitting in a Judges Chair when they're not competing.

Oh, and Sign up as soon as the registration is open.  It'll sell out fast. As in, just a couple of weeks.

Congrats on the Meet, and those are some nice lifts!

Thanks.  Malden, not Mendon  Murph's meet.  It was not on the rps site until recently, and now that it's on the site the registration is being held off until July.

Dang, finally getting back at it after my meet a few weeks ago.  Decided to switch it up and do more hypertrophy, but I forgot about the DOMS!  The way Josh Bryant programs me leading up to a meet I virtually have no DOMS, but his hypertrophy stuff is a biach.  I feel like I'm covered in boo boos.
