2016 Goals Thread
« on: December 24, 2015, 06:18:40 AM »
Here we go!

Biggest goal for me is going to be a 4 plate deadlift,  only 40# more to go.  In process, a 3 plate squat is 50# away, not completely out of reach.  Not much concerned with bench, but need to make some ground on OHP, any growth would be great as my max is 135 for a triple.

....And shave off at least 15# of fluffy. No need to be walking around at 235. Sub-200 has been an unmet goal for a long time,  I may revisit it one the weather gets warmer.

Go.

April 23rd, is a Goal. Give Flex a run for the Numbers.
May 21st (or 28th), NAS Battle of the Thunder Gods VI, Strongman Competition. Pushing to get a Trophy at this one.
August 21st, Southern Mass Blast 2016, 90 lifters.
Then likely one more Powerlifting Meet before the end of the year.

Goals, I'd like to see a 365 bench this year.  More 600+lb Deads.  Buy my own Deadlift Bar.  More Squatting mid 500lb range.
250lb Log Press, 360lb Stone, 700lb Yoke Walk.

Purchase a Projector and a Screen for SMB2016 Meet.
Purchase a Laptop for the PL Meet.
Bring more lifters to I-S.

Spend more time with my birdies. Take a week vacation, and not work.

See more family this year.  Find a relationship with someone that understands my love of training.

That's really about it.

Do not fear The Iron, for it does not care.

Would be nice if we all made this a goal.

I've sponsored the SMB both years and not one single new member as a result of it.

ROFLMAO  ;D

I pretty much only have one... keep training despite all the crap that life throws at me.  Home gym should help enormously with that. Also would be nice if I can actually show up at my meets with better numbers than last year  ::)

Not setting any goals as I didn't hit any of the ones I set last yr. Lower back has been fubarred most of the yr so my #500+ dl went out the  window, stalled on bench and haven't even tried anything over #285. Will drop a few more lbs and get down to #205 or so, thats about it.

Some great goals in here.   Will be fun to watch people hit them.

I never set a goal I dont plan on making.   For the time being I am taking a break from any large goals and not setting any strength ones.

My main goal is just working towards making this part of my everyday lifestyle to maintaining a level of conditioning which reflects the amount of work I have put up over the past years.   Not really like a normal goal that I might set which is clearly defined.   Mine now are more like...."Ill know when I get there".

Good luck all.   Hope 2016 proves to be a good year for all.

My goal is to lose another 30 lbs by the end of the year (putting me around 285 lbs) . I'd also like to get up to 405 on squat and back up to 500 on deads. We shall see what the year brings I suppose lol.
Best lifts:
Bench- 380, Squat- 365, Deadlift 505
Honourable mention- Incline bar 350

Hrmm...

  • Continue to learn and better my routine  and diet, work on better sleep patterns and lessen the impact work stress has on my life.. gets pretty damn easy after this...
  • 2 Full Meets -- SMB in August, maybe one in CT this coming April. But, definitely SMB in August.. and something else.
  • 480+ Dead, this will be rough as every damn 10lbs on deads seems to be one hell of a game for me, but, I am moving in the right direction. I want 500, but intend to work hard and smart to hit 480+.. and it's a bit more realistic for me...
  • 360-365 Bench. I recently missed 350 (too eager, foolish attempt), but I've hit 345 in the basement and 335/330 in meets.. 365 will be achievable with some hard work.. it's probably a 25-30ish lb jump at this point. But, I have plans... and am already attacking this..
  • Squat progress.. I don't have a number, I just want to see continual overall progress here..

Lets get rolling...
