Posing help
« on: December 07, 2015, 09:08:21 PM »
I have never posed in my life, and my first physique show is a few months away! What is a good website, video, or instructor to learn from and any tips/hints would be helpful!
I intend to tell fate its my turn to take the reigns.

I would start with the Layne Norton videos on bodybuilding.com. Very easy to understand. I'm sure there are many others.

Videos will only take you so far and to my knowledge Layne does bodybuilding not Men's Physique.

Men's Physique is one of the easiest to learn to pose for, its all 1/4 turns with a hand on the hip and a twist here and there.

-Get the basics down with a video
-find a room full of mirrors, many cardio rooms at gyms are like this
-practice your ass off
-someone will eventually ask wtf ur doin'-srs
-that someone will eventually know someone who has competed in MP
-get that someone to help you with your posing, nothing beats in person help
-if no one comes to you then by 4 weeks out you should be talking to a real life posing coach for MP you have found either on the 'net or at a gym-there are plenty
-pepper ur angus to pay some cash for this

If you have invested time into your gym mates and gotten to know them it is easy to ask an MP competitor to help you and 99% of the time they will help you for free and may even come to the show.

This is why we talk to people of a like mind in the gym and not just stick to our own thing.

and if you have gotten free help, remember to pay it forward your next show.

appreciate this. My friend thats competed twice so far said he would help, but ill definitely make sure to get the basics down and practice before he helps. I have heard from many people how significant posing can be

I would call around some local gym's to see if you can find a posing coach around or near your area.

My only recommendation is to NOT take posing advice from induced drag.

It completely slipped my mind but I just thought of Kenny Wallach.  I'm almost positive he does Skype sessions (not just local.)  This guy is by far the best in the business when it comes to MP posing.

If you have a FB you can find him there:
