The Bulgarian Method you are using, is it the version Greg Nuckols and Omar Isuf wrote?

Not that I am aware of.  It's more along the lines of the Dan John 40-day program and Pavel Tastouine's power to the people program.  In stead of doing 2x5 like Dan or 1x5, 90%x5 that Pavel has.  I just do singles with 85% 1RM to start out with them progress each week from there.

Beast of a session. Did you start out with the wrist and shoulder mobility to have a good front rack or did you have to work to it over time? I'm just not quite sure how to go about gaining the mobility to have a good rack.

We did stretches and what not growing up so as far as I remember I have always worked on it.  Also, slowly progressing makes it better too so you don;t kill your joints right at the beginning.

I actually front squat crossed armed, for whatever reason I find that I can do more weight that way.

Excuse the dumb question, but does "bottom up front squats" means you're starting in the bottom position?

Do you find this to be harder than regular squats? Why do you do them this way?

My personal opinion is they are brutal becuase you get no momentum bounce reflex at the bottom. It's all get tight, engage and stand up!  :-[

Yes, much harder.  Like it was said before you get no bounce out of the hole or any to use.  Just grip bar, stand up.

Much like doing pause squats, pin squats can build explosiveness out of the hole.

Ok, that's what I was kind of getting at. I was going to ask why you don't just do pause squats. I wasn't sure if there was something different with the first rep out of the hole or something.

I might switch up the next 2 weeks and do pin squats instead of front squats.  But I'm really liking the front squats which I feel are a more 'athletic' than traditional squats.
