Thanks. The pork idea sounds good but I can't use this during the week as I leave around 6 am and don't get home till around 6 pm or later.

Does it not have a low setting?
Put ours in at 6:30, won't pull it out of the crockpot until about 6pm.
Most recipes call for 4-6 hours on high, 10-12 hours on low.
Our old one, before the bowl cracked, had a temp probe that would turn itself to the "warm" setting. Was also programmable.

Yes it does so I guess I could do that. But like I said, 6 pm or later. Tonight is the first night of my grandsons football practice. This means that I left at 6 am and right after work I'll go to my bro inlaws bodyshop, from there I'll go to football practice ( which starts at 6 ) and then home after. So I won't get home till at least 7:30. Story of my life. I hardly ever eat dinner at home anymore.

I think I'll try the bbq pork idea this weekend.

Made some bbq pulled pork yesterday. Cooked it about 7 hrs on low. Went a little light on the bbq on purpose. Lots of onion.

I was gone all day but the house sure did smell good when I got home. This stuff turned out real good too.

That has to be the best part about slow-cooking.  You get home and it's as though some little elves have been cooking for you all day!

Pork looks great, and I bet your stew was awesome, Dana!

Yes, nothing beats cooking all day while you're out doing everything else. So glad I got this crock pot.

Made some chicken this weekend. Wrapped in bacon and covered with dry BBQ rub.

It was great. The juciest chicken I've ever made. It made a great natural broth too.

That looks good. Never thought about wrapping it in bacon before putting it in there!
