Thanks Guys and Gals.  I appreciate the cheering squad.  Getting a right bit nervous as it approaches.

The roster has been posted, and I'm in the Master division.  It looks like some stiff competition, and some big dudes that I'll be up against. It will be very interesting to see how this all goes.

Do not fear The Iron, for it does not care.

so.....

4th place out of 6. The top three were long time Strongman Competitors, and they smoked me on the Circus Dumbbell.  They went 8,8,6 and I got one.  I did get it locked out, I'm happy that a 140lb Dumbbell went up over head, single hand and locked.  New PR. I'll take it.

Car Deadlift, hit 17 reps.  They went 20, 21, and 11.

The Medley, they just had more speed than I did.  Simple as that.

Keg Toss, we all got the 20 & 25 over, but no one got the 30 or 35.

Atlas Stone, I won! 325lbs to 48".  and MY body felt every single bit of it.  My hips feel like I had a group of mobsters feel me up with a few Louisville sluggers.  But it just wasn't enough to come back to garner a trophy.

Wicked awesome day.  Surprised myself and learned a lot about what I could do.  It went a bit long, but they had had 65 competitors, and they had some trouble with the Medley setup.  Took them a bit to sort that out.

I weighed in at 259lbs, and I was there were only 2 guys lighter than me.

I ate food all day long.  got home about 45 minutes ago, and have smashed a steak and am sipping a beer.  Tomorrow is going to be rough.

Vids:

Small note: My voice is fucked up.  I've had this happen before with a Max Deadlift, where if my chest is under a lot of pressure and I "Roar", if shreds my vocal chords and I can't talk much above a whisper for a few days.

I did enjoy that beer.  A nice cold corona, with all sorts of good memories attached to the taste.

Coming from you, that means a lot.  Thanks!
And as I read this, it dawns on me, that I didn't bring my Iron-Sanctuary T to where during an event. Dammit... Won't forget next time.

Thanks! I shocked myself by actually getting that Keg up the first time.  Haven't managed it before. The handle on it is 3" and it's damn tough to grab on to.  I've found that I can't use wrist wraps to do it.
Yes, that Keg toss can certainly have some really bad accidents.  Luckily, no one was hurt yesterday. Actually, not one injury that I heard of.
Very cool!
It was indeed! Thanks!

There's only one way to do it.  Step Up and Do It.

I have to say that this morning, everything from the back of my knees to the base of my skull is sore.  My traps are Trashed.  I don't think I've ever been this sore of this much of my body at one time.

Now, to set my sights on August and October.  Likely sometime between now and then, when it comes up, I'll decide on the Couples Strongman comp that Lightning Fitness holds in December.  Then just have to find a partner.
