It's hard to go wrong with lots and lots of squatting

My problem is actually holding more than 105 over my head, never been a fan of working shoulders and now it's coming back to haunt me

Are you talking holding 105# in that bottom position, or at the top?

either one, the squat portion is nothing, just holding the bar would seem heavy, although since I don't have to press it....

hmmm

Not sure if it the Clean and Press is an Oly move like the clean and jerk  but compared to my normal lifts it sure feels like one. Did some more of these yesterday at the end of my workout....was doing back shrugs with just over #400 and when I stripped the weight down the final #135 felt light as hell so I figured why not Clean and Press? The 1st 3 at 135 went real easy and the weight wasn't jack shit, the 4th one got just a tad harder and the 5th rep I almost didn't get it into position for the press but managed. The 6th rep was a dismal failure.
I swear shit like this is more of a circus side show act as opposed to an actual weight lifting demonstration. Get the move down just right and it's easy as hell, but get it wrong and you look like a putz.

BTW my shoulders use to bother me and hurt like hell, i'd get on the shoulder press machine and could do maybe half the stack before weakness and pain stopped me. But for quite a few months now I have been dedicating 2 days a week to primarily shoulder workouts and let me tell you it has helped a ton. At my gym I can max out the weight stacks on 2 different shoulder press machines now and just plain ole overall strength is going up as a result.

Clean and Press used to be an Olympic lift, but it was removed from Oly competitions back in the 70s (I think) because it was too hard to judge objectively. You had some lifters who were turning it into a standing bench press, and there was no way for a judge to spot "too much lean"...and come to think of it, I don't think they ever came to a conclusion about how much was acceptable, so they pulled it out altogether.

I swear shit like this is more of a circus side show act as opposed to an actual weight lifting demonstration. Get the move down just right and it's easy as hell, but get it wrong and you look like a putz.

This why people who are really good at it say that the Oly lifts are at least 80% technique. I would say it, but my technique still sucks.

Don't know how I missed this. I've started adding oly lifts into my rotations once a week for speed. I love them a lot but never has so little felt so heavy, so fast in all my time lifting.
This is all too reasonable. It will end in tears.
