Look at you with all the PR's this week, way to go girl!  I rarely get a PR without some sort of asterisk and some fine print attached that first time (not quite deep enough, bar dipped, uneven lockout, butt came off bench, whatever).  Now you know 135 really is there, and it's just a matter of smoothing out the rough edges.  That's the easy part!  Getting there for the first time is the hard part.  So much of this is a mental game, especially with the big plates.  Now you know "I CAN DO THIS".

Thanks everyone.  I sure do have some rough edges to smooth out.  I didn't make the 135 today, but I'm not giving up.

Beef tenderloin steaks for dinner tonight.

In for a hellish week at work.  Not looking forward to it at all.  Mr Flexy surprised me with a beautiful bouquet of flowers to brighten up my home office.  What a guy.   :-*

Happy Sunday!

Awesome.  Flex grilled them, and when they came off the grill, they each got a little dab of herb butter that I'd made (to sautee our mushrooms).  Excellence.

He's mighty good to me.  :)

May 5, 2015

Went to the gym for a back session.  It felt good - I really stretched out my upper and lower back.  Been carrying around a bit of stress.

Close-grip Pulldowns:
90 x 10
105 x 10
105 x 10
105 x 10
105 x 10
105 x 10
105 x 10

Seated Cable Rows:
90 x 10
105 x 10
105 x 10
105 x 10
105 x 10
105 x 10
105 x 10

Hammer Strength Iso Lateral High Rows:
70 x 10
70 x 10
70 x 10
70 x 10
70 x 10
70 x 10

Cardio:
Recumbent bike, 15 minutes.

I had a really, really, really lousy day at work yesterday.  We had some leftover roast sirloin, so I made a loaf of bread, then a cheese sauce with Boddington's Ale and aged cheddar and we had open-faced sammiches for dinner.  It was a nice night.

Happy Hump Day!

I am getting really really nervous about this June meet.

I'll tell you some advices I was given for my shows;
"You do not have the luxury of having a negative thought."

and General George S. Patton personally came down in a dream and repeated his epic words to me;
"do not pay counsel to your fears."

Just work.
1+1 will eventually add up to 2.

Cheering for ya Lisa, I know you CAN!

You'll nail that 135 in June, I just know it!

Great back session you got in. Nothing like stretching out the old back muscles to relieve a bit of stress tension.

Thanks Brian!  I like those quotes and I'll keep them both in mind.  :)

Thanks!  It really does relieve tension and stress.  Didn't feel so pleasant at first, but after a few good stretches, it felt great!

May 13, 2015

Work has kept me out of the gym, but I got back today and am glad of it.  Not a very good squat session, by any stretch of the imagination, but I was up and out and moving.

Mr Flexy bought me some really swanky lifting shoes.  I tried them today.  I am a klutz, for sure.  They will take some getting used to.  I'll put them on earlier into my next session and see how it goes.

Squats:
95 x 6
115 x 6
135 x 6
155 x 5
155 x 3
175 x 2
195 x 1
205 x fail
205 x 1
215 x fail
175 x 3
175 x 3
175 x 3

Roast beast tonight.  Bench tomorrow.

Happy Hump Day!
