She kicked ass again today.

I just bought her a set of IronWoody micro plates along with her own set of Rogue HG collars.

March 21, 2015

After a slacker of a week, we went to the gym today for a nice bench session.  I love my new collars, but I didn't play with my new plates today.  I was greedy and jumped from 125 to 130 and, although I came close, I failed.  :(  I should have brought out the new plates and crept my way up from 125.  Next time.

Barbell Bench Press:
45 x 8
75 x 8
85 x 6
95 x 6
105 x 3
110 x 3
115 x 3
120 x 1
125 x 1
130 x fail
130 x fail
115 x 2
105 x 6
105 x 6
105 x 6
105 x 4
95 x 10

No cooking for me tonight, as Mr Flexy is treating us to churrasqueira - Portuguese chicken and rice and those yummy little potatoes.

Happy weekending!

Deadlift day.  I have to tell you, I didn't want to go to the gym, I felt a little lousy and was sure I wouldn't be able to lift a thing.  Glad I went though.   :)

Deadlifts:
135 x 8
155 x 6
175 x 6
195 x 3
205 x 1
215 x 1 <-- PR!
225 x 1 <-- Holy cats! 2 plates finally!!
230 x fail
185 x 3
185 x 3
185 x 3
185 x 3
185 x 3
185 x 3

My bum and hammies hurt already.  Very hot shower shall be my reward.  That, and Mr Flexy is cooking me a steak tonight.  Oh boy!  That grill has been covered up for months and buried under snow.

Enjoy your Sunday, Friends!

Whoo congrats on two plates! It's the greatest feeling of all time to add a 45, makes the challenge of lifting totally worth it!

Thanks ever so much, Friends!  I don't mind telling you that deadlift session had me on a high - even yesterday.

I know I've been making good progress in the gym lately, but these PRs have been coming on weekends when I'm well-rested, or in shorter 1-1.5 hour gym sessions.  I am getting worried that when the competition comes, I'll do well on my first lift and then fizzle out the rest of the day.  I've done 2-hour lifting sessions, but that's the extent.  I know I won't be lifting all day long, but I worry those long breaks in between squat, bench and dead will take the wind out of my sails.

I don't see myself in the gym until the weekend.  I have been commuting into the office yesterday and today, and will be again on Thursday and Friday.  I am working from home tomorrow, but am swamped trying to meet this March 31st deadline.

All I can say is, I'll be one happy girl on April 1st and hope to spend more time in the gym after Easter.
