February 26, 2015

Mixed things up a bit and did bench press for a second time this week.  Not a stellar day, but I got some work done.  My elbow is bothering me (really hurt on the 125 attempts), so I went quite light for my last working sets.

Barbell Bench Press:
45 x 8
75 x 8
85 x 6
95 x 5
105 x 3
110 x 1
115 x 1
120 x 1
125 x fail
125 x fail
95 x 6
95 x 6
95 x 6
95 x 6
95 x 6
95 x 6

Not sure what's on tap for tomorrow, but it's bound to be a better day. :)

I think that was still a solid session.

I was planning on doing squats tomorrow but I just realized that's only two days after our DL session so I'm thinking upper back tomorrow and squats Saturday.

That sounds like a good plan.  I'll be interested to see what I can squat when I'm well-rested on a weekend.

I wouldn't call those 2 attempts at 195 fails.

Great work today.  Sorry if I'm pushing you hard on depth I just don't want you to get red-lighted in June.

You have no need to be sorry - I'm grateful for the advice.  Not everybody gets to learn from the Master. :)

Nice work, Lisa. Very strong lifting + it's great that you and FLEX are so supportive of each other.

Thanks!  I have never trained until 5 years ago when Mr Flexy decided to start training again.  He's taught me everything.  I'm no superstar, but I wouldn't be anywhere near where I am now if not for him.  He's very patient with me. :)

VERY good work Lisa!  You're going to kill it at your meet!

Oh gosh, thanks Ron, I hope so.  Nervous about this meet.  3.5 months to get my lifts in good order!

Holy cats, it's March!

Not a bad day on the bench.  Mad I missed the 130, and super mad I couldn't manage a triple at 115.  But my left elbow is hurting.  I don't know what I did to it this week, but it's angry.

Barbell Bench Press:
45 x 8
75 x 6
85 x 6
95 x 3
105 x 3
115 x 2
120 x 1
125 x fail
125 x 1
130 x fail
130 x fail
115 x 2
115 x 1
100 x 6
100 x 6
100 x 6
100 x 6
100 x 6
100 x 6

I'm in the office tomorrow, so no training.

I have a pot roast cooking away and it smells good.  Nice way to end the weekend.

Happy Weekending!

I remember when 100lbs was your max.

Now you're doing 6 sets of 6 at that weight!

AMAZING!!!!

I think my favorite thing in a journal is when I see a fail with repeated attempts.

That tells me more about about a lifter than a thousand selfies or videos.

I don't see many people...actually I don't see any...fail and try again and again and again.

Lisa is a rare breed.  I have much respect for her.  More than she will ever know.
