probably because she knew there would be blood involved brother, his.
Take her cue, Lisa is wise and you don't need a criminal record.

Yep, Lisa didn't want to bail you out of jail......

Pretty much what Brian said.  lol..  But also because I don't think he really intended to offend.  I don't.  An awful lot of people think cardio is the way to lose weight, and an awful lot of people don't think women should lift.  Common misconceptions.

Like Brian and Cali and you say, I'll stick with doing what I'm doing.  My trainer knows what he's on about.   ;) :)

Great job in here Lisa. You should definitely keep doing your thing. People just need to learn to keep their traps shut unless someone actually asks for their advice.

November 21, 2014

I am unexpectedly working from home today so I was able to go to the gym.  Yay!  I had no planned workout, so I did some arms and that swanky pullover machine that Mr Flexy likes.

Barbell Bicep Curls:
30 x 10
30 x 10
30 x 10
30 x 10
30 x 10
30 x 10

Nautilis Nitro Pullovers:
20 x 10
35 x 10
50 x 10
50 x 10
50 x 10
50 x 10

Tricep Cable Pressdowns:
30 x 10
30 x 10
30 x 10
30 x 10
30 x 10
30 x 10

Cardio:
Treadmill, 25 minutes

Not terribly exciting, but glad I went.

Delighted that the weekend is here.  Supposed to warm up too, which will be nice.

Happy weekending, Friends!

I tried something different today.  Instead of barbell bench press, I used the Hammer Strength seated bench press. Good Heavens!  I figured I'd put 25 lbs per side on to warm up.  I barely got 10 reps.  Very very difficult.  I had to remove 5 lbs per side.  What the heckle?

Hammer Strength Bench Press:
25 lbs per side x 10
20 lbs per side x 10
20 lbs per side x 10
20 lbs per side x 10
20 lbs per side x 10
20 lbs per side x 10
20 lbs per side x 10

Hammer Strength Shoulder Press:
10 lbs per side x 10
20 lbs per side x 10
20 lbs per side x 10
20 lbs per side x 10
20 lbs per side x 10
20 lbs per side x 10
20 lbs per side x 10

Dumbbell Pec Flyes:
10 x 10
10 x 10
10 x 10
10 x 10
10 x 10

Cardio:
Treadmill, 20 minutes

Man, that was a rough workout.   :-[

Roast beef for dinner tonight with rosemary roasted red potatoes.

I hope Thanksgiving is wonderful for those celebrating today.  Tomorrow I'll be dead jealous of your hot turkey leftovers!

I find those Hammer Strength seated press machines humbling as well.

Lots of work and it was nice to have you in the gym with me this morning.

That looks like a good session to me Lisa.  That's almost 200 reps and cardio to boot.  Whole lotta work going on in here!

Humbling is a good word!  Zowie.  I still don't get it. Half the weight I press when lying down. But I'll stop moaning now.   :D

Thanks good Sir!  I'm trying to get as much in as I can since my visits to the gym are kind of infrequent.

November 28, 2014

Did some back work today.  Pretty much the same as last Friday, except that I managed 2 more reps per set on the high rows.

Seated Cable Rows:
90 x 10
105 x 10
105 x 10
105 x 10
105 x 10
105 x 10
105 x 10
105 x 10

Close Grip Pulldowns:
105 x 10
105 x 10
105 x 10
105 x 10
105 x 10
105 x 10
105 x 10

Hammer Strength Iso Lateral High Rows:
70 x 10
70 x 10
70 x 10
70 x 10
70 x 10
70 x 10

Cardio:
Treadmill, 18 minutes.

I was so pooped after that.  My forearms were sore.  I thought they were going to fall off.  Ugh.  Sometimes I come out of the gym feeling like WonderWoman, and sometimes not so much...

I really had to laugh and I'm not sure if you noticed but there was a dude on the machine between us; the Hammer Strength Low Row.

He had a 35 lb plate on each side and was making so much noise, like he was lifting a ton, and he was doing HALF the weight as you and you didn't make a peep.

Hell, I had 5 plates plus a 25 on each side and I wasn't even grunting and groaning like he was.

 ;D

Nice work today; very strong.
