Back at it this morning.  Press day.  I started strong, but kinda fizzled.  Glad I went though.

Barbell Bench Press:
45 x 10
65 x 10
75 x 8
85 x 8
95 x 3 <-- Disappointed.  I honestly expected to get 6 reps.
95 x 3
95 x 4
100 x 1
105 x 1
110 x fail
110 x fail
85 x 6

Dumbbell Shoulder Press:
12 x 10
15 x 8 <-- increase of 3 lbs.  :)
15 x 8
15 x 8
15 x 8

Pec Deck:
45 x 10
45 x 10
45 x 10
45 x 10

Cardio:
None.

And that was all.

Snow on the ground here and a biting -11C this morning.  Brrrrr!

Lisa, what's your diet like right now?

Still on a bloody diet with intermittent bouts of cheating!

Squats today.  Pretty much the same as my last session, but it felt better.  To be honest, I considered adding 10 lbs for a set and then maybe another 10 lbs for another set and then dropping back.  But I just kept going with 135.

squats:
45 x 8
95 x 8
115 x 6
135 x 6
135 x 6
135 x 6
135 x 6
135 x 6

Cardio:
Treadmill, 25 minutes

The squat session was fine, although I was a tired on the last 2 sets.  But the cardio damn near killed me today.  I didn't think it would ever end.

Cardio is always more brutal on leg days.

Nice job pwning that 135...some times weight needs to be beaten repeatedly so it knows who's the boss.
Now it knows. :)

I love the looks people give when Lisa gets under that bar with the big wheels on it and goes for reps, then does it again 5 or 6 more sets.

Have you looked at carb cycling diets?

Aw thanks.  Next time I'll add a little weight and see if I can still be a boss!   ;)

Thanks Mr Flexy.  I try hard.

No, I haven't.  I love to cook and I love to eat.  My doctor says my diet is healthy and nutritious.  I just need to eat less.   :-[

November 20, 2014

I was recalling last night how I used to do 4 exercises per workout and I'd do 8 sets of each.  I wanted very much to do that today.  I did not succeed.  Today was a real struggle.  Everything felt really heavy.  Really heavy.  I told myself not to give up though, to do as much as I could.

I had just finished my second or third last set of seated cable rows and was red-faced and struggling.  Some guy said, "Lots of hard work, eh?"  I smiled and said yes.  He said, "Look, do yourself a favour.  You need to be over there on a treadmill.  This is only going to make you strong.  You need to get over there and get on a bike or a treadmill and work for an hour. Work!"

Ouch.

All I could manage to say was "I like being strong".

And then he prattled on again about how I need to be on a treadmill.  He was smiling and sort of friendly.  I'm sure he didn't realise that what he was saying was inappropriate.

He finally left, and I had 2 sets to finish up, so I did them.  I then sat for several minutes, still stinging, and considered heading over to a treadmill.  But I did 2 more back exercises instead.

Close-grip Pulldowns:
90 x 10
105 x 10
105 x 8
105 x 10
105 x 10
105 x 10
105 x 10
105 x 8

Seated Cable Rows:
90 x 10
105 x 10
105 x 10
105 x 10
105 x 10
105 x 10
105 x 10

Hammer Strength Iso-Lateral High Rows:
70 x 8
70 x 8
70 x 8
70 x 8
70 x 8
70 x 8

Reverse Pec Deck (Rear Delts):
30 x 10
45 x 10
45 x 10
45 x 10
45 x 10
45 x 10
45 x 10

Cardio:
None.
