Great work overall Lisa!
Are you starting to notice any changes with the cut? Extra energy, overall feeling better?

Another question...what's the good stuff that happened when you quit smoking? (btw, huge props for that)

Hi there!  Fingers crossed - it's been one month now.  I've dropped some weight through my diet, and I've noticed increased flexibility.  That's a bonus right there (I'm an auld woman with auld joints!).

Solid work on the bench today.

Thanks.  And thanks for helping me along.  :)

Great work overall Lisa!

Thanks Brian!  I am starting to notice changes.  The weight is coming off, and I guess I do feel better overall being off the sauce and eating better and active again.  It's been a year and three-quarters since I quit smoking.  Cravings are long gone.  When we went on vacation, everyone seemed to smoke and they smoked everywhere - I mean everywhere!  There were ashtrays in the bathrooms even.  Smoking in restaurants.  It was like the early 1980s again.  lol...  At first I was a little envious of those smokers, but by the 2nd or 3rd day the smoke was icky to me and I was looking to escape the second-hand smoke.  Didn't think that would ever happen.

I will say, my skin is better and my lung capacity is better.  My perpetual cough disappeared immediately.

Here's a crazy benefit:  it's been liberating.  I don't have to set my alarm half an hour earlier so that I can have 2 smokes in the morning.  I come home from work, walk right in the front door and get on with my evening without stopping for a smoke on the porch.  I can read, snooze, or watch a movie on an airplane now instead of jonesing for a puff.

Oh hai der Lisa!

Good to hear that you're hittin' the iron again! The numbers are coming along. Don't you worry!

Well Hiya W!  Nice to see you here!  Thanks for stopping by.  I'm working on those numbers.  Trying not to chase them, but working to get back to where I was.  :)

October 5, 2014

Deadlifts in the garage with Mr Flexy today.  I had fun.

Deadlifts:
135 x 6
155 x 6
155 x 6
165 x 6
175 x 3
185 x 1 <---- might have been the longest slowest pull ever, but I did it.
155 x 6
155 x 6
135 x 10

I thoroughly expected the 155 to feel light after 185, but holy heck that was a hard set.

I've made my turkey chili for the week.  I have a few chores to do, but looking forward to relaxing this evening before the work week begins.

Happy Weekending, All!

October 7, 2014

Not a great morning.  I was supposed to bench press today.  I did three sets and my right shoulder was very sore and I had to throw in the towel.  :(  I tried the chest press machine, and it was no better.

I don't know what I've done to it.  It doesn't hurt all of the time, just in certain positions.  It could be from schlepping my laptop and a heavy bag around the city yesterday.  Maybe I slept on it funny.  Who knows.  So I did a little pec deck and a little arm work because it is better to do something than do nothing.

Barbell Bench Press:
45 x 10
65 x 10
75 x 6

Pec Deck:
60 x 8
60 x 8
60 x 8
60 x 8
60 x 8
60 x 8

Tricep Cable Pressdowns:
40 x 10
40 x 10
40 x 10
40 x 10
40 x 10
40 x 10

Barbell Bicep Curls:
20 x 10
20 x 10
20 x 10
20 x 10
30 x 10
30 x 10

Cardio:
Treadmill, 35 minutes

Crazy busy at work.  Another rainy day and I have little motivation.  Somebody light a fire under me!
