I dunno about that.  Kept a sheet of graph paper on a clipboard next to my bathroom scale when I lost weight in the past.  Looked like a stock market graph, but the best thing was to see trends over a few weeks. 

I'll be throwing my hat in this ring either next week or the end of the month. Going to commit to a 90 day run, take a break for the holidays and reevaluate at new years.

I weighed every single day on my cut and recorded it. Higher carb days and my beer days were on Sunday so would see a larger increase on Monday mornings. Usually on Wednesday I would hit where I was lowest and continue to drop. It was actually pretty neat to see how certain foods affected my weight and how it fluctuated from day to day.

I didn't obssess over the weight, I just watched it go up and down.

I'm going to join the official IS cut, and dammit, I'm sticking with it this time.  I cut for this summer, but never got down as far as I wanted and I'm back up into the low to mid 250's again.  I've made some mass gains, but it's time to strip off the fat.  I was 252 after my workout this morning, and I'm shooting for 235.

I weigh myself everyday as well, whether I'm cutting or not.  That doesn't work for everyone.  I view it as data, and as an engineer, the more data I have the better.  I don't feel the need to act on small, short term changes in the data, but not everyone has that view.  If seeing the number go up and down day to day bugs you, weigh yourself less often. 

I also check my 401K balance everyday, I know that would drive some people crazy!

No way in hell I could do this everyday!! But reminds me I haven't checked it since the spring. Better go take a looksey!

I get my statements via email and never look at them. I usually check about twice a year and make adjustments if needed.

And good luck on your cut. Looks like we have a group cut going on up in here! Best of luck to everyone!

I rarely check my balance, would probably make me cry. And regarding weight I know mine will fluctuate 4-5 lbs easily, except lately it's been pretty consistent at #245 or so which is about #25 more than I want but I am enjoying food too much right now.

I honestly believe if you split those 2 meals into 5-6 meals you would notice a difference. I'm dropping bodyfat by eating more often
