Vascularity?
« on: April 10, 2012, 06:54:47 PM »
I am curious as to what causes this. I started noticing last week that my veins almost every where are standing out more. Then today I was looking at myself in the mirror and they seemed to be even more pronounced. I have been on creatine for the last two months now, and been taking in extra water too, also been cutting down my bf%. I suppose it is the lower bf that is causing the veins to stand out more? When I lifted in my early twenties, I got pretty dam big and strong. I was up to 240 pounds and you could see my abs ( not necessarily ripped but you could see them), but I still remember  not being vascular at the time, because I knew other guys that were and always wondered why I didn't get that look. I guess thinking back to then and comparing to now is why it is confusing me on how it is happening. Any one know exactly what it is that causes it? I am doing mostly heavy lifting 6 - 8 rep range, barbell work, hitting every muscle once a week and a little extra chest work thrown in, because it is one of my stubborn points. Haven't done much cardio lately either mostly due to time constraints with school and work.

Lower body fat will have the single biggest impact on vascularity.

I know there are some supps that are supposed to help, but I have no idea how effective they are, if at all....

Taking Arganine? That'll do it, as well as lower BF% IMO.

Ya, I figured it was mostly due to lower body fat, I was just a little confused because when I was younger and bigger and stronger than I am now I had fairly low bf too, but not much vascularity at the time, was always envious of guys that had that look.

I agree. ^^^^^ Plus the extra water always helped me too. Not sure about the science behind it, but it seems to work.
