Great job Ron. Your PR's point out to me that I really have an issue with my squats, comparitive to my other lifts.

My best single for bench is 275 but my best squat is 245 ( best DL is 370 for 1 ). Something is really wrong and I can't figure out what.  :(

Your squat is quite impressive.

Thanks guys.  Eric, I feel that my squat is progressing as it should but my other lifts are too slow at progression.  Most folks can deadlift more than they squat until they get up to the elite weights where leverages or grip gives way.  My deadlift sucks and should IMO be upwards of 450+.  However to date it is only 370.  I missed 2 tries at 375 a couple weeks ago.  My bench took a big hit on my last cut.  I hope to retain strength better on my next cut (soon).

Your squat is definitely progressing. Mine stopped a long time ago.  :o  I have basically stopped DL'ing since messing up my back so I no longer think I'll hit my 405 this year. Still pushing hard on bench though.

I know for sure everything will drop once I start a cut, assuming I do in January.

Good luck hitting 1000.  :D

Two new PRs from this weekend's mock-meet.  Should have been 3, but my deadlift is stuck, stalled, and just plain blows.  I hit 435 on squat for a 30lb PR and 255 on bench for a 5lb PR.  That's 60lb on my squat and 15lb on bench since the August meet.  I easily got my 1000lb finally with a 1050lb total.

Nah... Wife is already giving me hell about the return of the gut.  I'm only 178 now but I'm going to cut back down under 170.  I'm confident in my squat not regressing but can probably expect to lose a bit on my bench.  Deadlift, I'm seriously considering getting some private coaching at SSPT about an hour away from me in Rockville, MD.  Goal is to hit 450/275/450 for May's meet.

My first DL PR in almost a year.  Only a 5lb PR, but a PR is a PR.  After this, I attempted 385 but couldn't get it past my knees.  This one really took a lot out of me though as I dropped to 355 and grinded that out.  After my meet, I'm going to stay away from heavy deadlifts for a while and work on form and accessory lifts to bring it up.  Maybe run a cycle of SSPT singles to work on form.

Congrats. I'm staying away from them for elbow reasons, but I don't think you lose much by not doing them if you're doing your heavy squats and some back stuffs.
