Congrats on the PR, don't worry about the DL fail, it happens, Saturday you'll be more focused and rip it off the ground.
man I wish that was a DL. I'd love to be able to pull 425.

Way to go on the Bench PR and I'm sure you'll hit your squat on Saturday.

Thanks, Eric.  I was pretty happy with today's work.  I did a lot of singles with about 85%.  It gave me a good opportunity to practice wrapping and getting used to squatting with wraps again.

Lowbar Squats w/ belt & wraps
   45 x 2 x 10
   95 x 5
   135 x 5
   185 x 5
   225 x 3
   275 x 1
   315 x 1
   365 x 8 x 1

Paused Bench Press
   45 x 2 x 10
   95 x 5
   135 x 4
   165 x 2
   195 x 1
   225 x 8 x 1

Paused Bench Press w/ SlingShot
   295 x 1

Eh...  It's good for overload work I guess.  I really don't use it much.  I probably have less than 50 reps total on the thing.  Today I was mainly just wanting to hold more than my goal for my meet in my hands.  If I weren't so fucking lazy, I'd just do negatives to be honest.  I just hate not having someone to help me put it back in the rack.  I have to unload down to 135 or do deadlifts off the bench.

Sounds like it might work for me then. I rarely have a spotter around when I lift. And, like you mentioned, that would get old putting a bench in the cage, sliding out from underneath and resetting.

I thought about one once but never got around to getting it.

I worked on dead benches a couple times to try to work on my explosiveness from the bottom, but then I switched to all DB work and never did them again.

At this time in 2 weeks I will be finished with my meet.  Today's session is likely the last intense session leading into it.  I was very happy with today's work.  I hit 2 PRs today.  From here on out, just 2-3 singles with openers or slightly higher.

Lowbar Squat - belt & wraps
   45 x 2 x 10
   95 x 5
   135 x 5
   185 x 5
   225 x 3
   275 x 1
   315 x 1
   365 x 2 x 1
   405 x 1
   425 x 1
   440 x 1 (5lb PR)  8)

Paused Bench Press
   45 x 2 x 10
   95 x 5
   135 x 4
   165 x 2
   195 x 1
   225 x 1
   245 x 1
   255 x 1
   265 x 2 x 1 (5lb PR felt so good I did it 2x)  8)

Conventional Deadlift - beltless)
   135 x 10
   135 x 5
   185 x 5
   225 x 3
   275 x 1
   315 x 1
   345 x 10 x 1

I used a belt on set 3 and was much, much slower completing the lift.  I guess I haven't figured out how to properly use a belt to help my DL so I'll leave the belt in the bag for my meet.

Thanks, man!  I'm feeling a whole lot better about this meet after today.  Missing 425 a few days ago really fucked with my head over the last couple of days.  I was planning on only working up to the 425 today, but it felt so damn good I said "Why the fuck not?  Let's solidify a legitimate 450 attempt for 2 weeks out."

SQUAT - 440lbs (5lb PR)

BENCH - 265lbs (second set at the weight, 5lb PR)
