Wasn't really oozing "out", but after the first set, I put my pinky finger in my ear (I know, elbows only, right?) and it was like clear puss.  Q-tipped in there and pulled out some nasty gunk and kept squatting.  I'll be doing the peroxide treatment tonight.  Maybe some rubbing alcohol to dry things up.

Blah.  Lifting 5 hours later when I'm usually in bed or getting ready to go to bed.  Wasn't the worst workout, but wasn't the best either.  No PRs again.  :(


Lowbar Squats (sleeves & belt) - 8 reps per set, @9, 5% load drop
   280 x 6 @6.5 (lost count, video showed I cut the set short  :o)

Paused Bench Press - 3 reps per set, @9, 5% load drop

Squats are feeling heavy for some reason but bench is feeling pretty good.  Weird.

Thanks, Bando.  Maybe someday I can progress past a mediocre bench.  :P

I just hope I can maintain the progress when I cut back to 165.  Holiday made me a bit chubby. :o

Man, I really wanted some PRs today.  It feels like forever since I've hit one after having a good streak in November  It just wasn't in the cards for me today though. 

Lowbar Squats (sleeves & belt) - 5 reps per set, @9, 5% load drop
   305 x 5 @7
   325 x 5 @8
   340 x 4 @9.5 -  >:(  I'm going to take this one next week.  I "may" have gotten a 5th, but I didn't want to miss a rep mid-cycle.
   315 x 5 @9

Paused Bench Press - 8 reps per set, @9, 5% load drop
   185 x 8 @7
   195 x 8 @8
   210 x 8 @10 - Tied a PR, still no easier than last time.

Blah workout.  This was supposed to be yesterday's session, but I stayed up so late to catch the series finale of SoA Tuesday night that I was dragging ass all day yesterday.  Came home from work and took an hour and a half nap on the couch and went to sleep at 8pm.  With a full nights sleep last night, I expected more out of today.  It just didn't happen.  No PRs and not even a match of a previous PR.  Weights felt heavy again.

Lowbar Squats (sleeves & belt) - 8 reps per set, @9, 5% load drop
   275 x 8 @7.5
   295 x 8 @8.5
   305 x 8 @9
   290 x 8 @9
I feel I should be getting up to 315x8 for these by now. 

Paused Bench Press - 3 reps per set, @9, 5% load drop
   215 x 3 @8
   225 x 3 @9  :o
   215 x 3 @8
   215 x 3 @8
   215 x 3 @8.5
   215 x 3 @9
Not as much volume as usual for this prescription and I should have been able to work up to higher than 225 for my top set.

Back on the PR train.  At least for squats.  I was supposed to drop the rep-range down to 4 for squats, but missing 340x4 has been pissing me off all week.  I had to take another attempt at it before moving on.

Bench felt solid up until the last 2 reps of my top set.  The first few reps were so fast that I starting wondering if I added weight to the bar.

Lowbar Squats (sleeves & belt) - 5 reps per set, @9, 5% load drop
   305 x 5 @7.5
   325 x 5 @8.5
   340 x 5 @9.5 - +5lb rep PR
   320 x 5 @8.5
   320 x 5 @9

Paused Bench Press - 8 reps per set, @9, 5% load drop
   190 x 8 @7.5
   200 x 8 @8.5
   210 x 7 @9.5 - >:(  First 5 were feeling great.  Ran out of gas quick tho.
   185 x 8 @9

Vids later.  My squat top set was my final attempt in my first meet last May.  Took a while to add 4 more reps to it, but it's progress.

I dedicate this session to my cousin Ann Marie who passed away last night.  We all miss you.

Still riding the PR train!  Had a pretty damn good session considering I was almost nodding off on the drive home from work.  A little caffeine cured that.  Now I just hope I can fall asleep tonight.   :o
