No comp countdown?  I'm out

 ;)

J/k, great work going on in here as always.  I'm jelly of the low bar squat.  I switched over to them for a very little bit, but just couldn't get comfortable with the bar with anything over 4 plates.
Me too.  I can't get comfortable over 4 plates :D
I've always been a lowbar squatter even when I was younger.  I always felt stronger in it.  Highbar always hurt my neck.

How's the GHR working out for you?  Notice any diff in your dl's?
Don't know if it's the GHR or one or all of all the other things I changed.  I'm doing more assistance stuff and only singles for deadlift now.

I am right there with you about the slow progress right now. In fact I've made negative progress with all my back issues. Off again. WTF????

Big numbers on those block pulls. I'm still hoping to pull my 405x1 DL this year but I've gotta give my back time to heal up.  >:(
I think you are just about there on your DLs for a 405 once your back gets better.

I sure hope so.

I tried low bar squatting but high bar feels more stable to me. I read about a lot of guys having bigger squat numbers doing low bar. Any truth to that?
It definitely is for me.  I have skinny legs so the lowbar lets me put more ass into it recruiting more muscles.  My best front squat is only 185x6.  Highbar hurts my traps but that's probably bar placement.

I may have to try low bar again because my numbers are embarrassing.  :-\

Felt great today!

Competition Squat, Bench Primary, Deadlift Accessory

Lowbar Squat - belt & sleeves
   315 x 3 @ 7
   335 x 3 @ 8.5
   345 x 3 @ 9.5
   350 x 3 @ 10 (15 lb 3RM PR w/o wraps)
   325 x 3 @ 9.5
   225 x 8 nice & slow

2ct Paused Bench
   185 x 4 @ 7
   205 x 4 @ 8.5
   215 x 4 @ 9.5 (10 lb 4RM PR)
   205 x 4 @ 9.5

Good mornings
   185 x 8 x 3 sets

GHR - assisted w/ 2 mini bands (red)
   3 x 10

The 350 x 3 comes out to an 3RM of 379.  Add in some wraps and I might be able to get 405 soon.

Next week begins the first of two weeks of singles.  The first week will be fairly light with the next a little more intense but none will be maxed out.  I'll save that for my mock meet.

Great workout. Great numbers. I can't imagine doing GM's with that kind of weight.

They were the arched back variety of GMs.  Use your hips an not your back and it's a light weight.  ;)

Blah.  Disappointing day.  Came up one short on deadlifts.

Competition Deadlift, Bench Accessory, Squat Primary
Conventional Deadlifts - one single every 5 minutes
   355 x 5 x 1
Was supposed to be 6 singles.  I tried twice and it was not coming up.  I'm supposed to do 2-3 singles w/ 375 next week.  We'll see.

CGBP
   185 x 6 @ 8
   175 x 6 @ 7
   175 x 6 @ 7.5
   175 x 6 @ 7.5
   175 x 6 @ 8

Lowbar Squats (speed)
   185 x 10 x 3

I re-watched the SSPT's Deadlift Table video again today.  Apparently, I didn't do too bad yesterday since I was supposed to do no more than 5 sets at 90%+ (3 being "optimal") and I was supposed to rest as long as needed.  Also, I purposely jacked my TM up 20lbs to push myself more.  Yesterday's weight was 96% of my 1RM.  Now I don't feel so bad (still wish I could pull mid-400's though).

SSPT's Deadlift Table

Looking forward to tomorrows benching.  High carb/protein lunch already prepared.

I'm assuming the projected goal for the Military nationals in May, is mid 1100's?
Do not fear The Iron, for it does not care.

I think that would be a good goal.  It might need to be at 181 for that one though.  A lot will depend on deadlift.  Squat and bench are feeling good lately.

Deadlift is still a big ?

Nice work on the PR 8)
Thanks!  I loaded up 255 after that but remembered this week was supposed to be an easy week so I took it down to 245 and did a rep with that.  Good thing I didn't try 255 because 245 was a grinder.
