Those sets were way heavier than they should have been. I was wanting to work up to 335 then drop to 300 for the last bunch of sets.  Lack of consistency and bad nutrition is catching up to me.  I've been off of creatine since my meet and need to get back on it again.  Diet's been so bad I haven't seen the point in it.

Ouch, sounds like you need to take charge.
Although, I'm one for talking since I skipped out last week for Vegas and shot my diet to hell also  :P

Nothing "meh" about 235 with a pause because you know with a touch and go you could crank them out.
Even a slight pause causes you do have to drive that weight up.

I don't know.  RPS hasn't posted up the May MD meet yet.  I may be training for only August.   :dunno:

I can't afford two NY trips a year.  Plus, a local meet takes one day out of my schedule whereas NY takes three.

Squat felt a little better this week.  I'm determined to try to be more consistent from here on out.  I had to cut the session short to help with the kids, but I  got decent work in.

Squats THEN Deadlift? Wish I had that energy!  Great work.

Question for you, and in full respect, not wanting this to sound dickish or anything...

With your squat up in the mid 300's, are you holding back on deads?  Just seems with squats like that you could be pulling 400-500.  Thoughts?

Again, in all respect.

Deadlifts have always been my nemesis.  I do hold back on sumos though since I'm very new to the lift.  However, my conventional isn't much higher.  I pulled 415 conventional at my last meet in August where I squatted 475.  Yes, I should be pulling much more, but squatting feels natural to me while deadlifting just feels uncomfortable.  Bad leverages maybe but I have to get it to a more respectable number.

Deadlifting after squatting takes some getting used to.  That's how a meet goes though.  And if deadlifting after squatting sucks, squatting after deadlifting is pure hell and a punch to the gut.  That's for Friday's session though.
