Lats are pretty smoked, I might throw back thickness into shoulder day and keep a just lats day.

Good news, Doc thinks back is just a strain and after the whole "lift less weights" "no" "do more reps with lighter weights" "no" exchange that I knew was coming, decided to just PT it myself. Driving back from doc I thought back to the PL programs I have run, all include lower back and ab work. Never hurt my back before and doesn't bother me when I'm training for a comp so just gonna do abs and lower back in my routine, no more heavy cable rows (for now.) Will start back with squats next week, nothing below 5 reps whatever that weight is and just go from there.

PT Day

back extension machine, 10 sets
abs, 10 sets
shoulder savers, 3 sets

Shoulders tomorrow and arms Friday

Good news about the back! Mine always feels jacked up but it is 2x as bad when I take time off the gym, I don't get how that works. The one thing I swear by that always makes it feel better is deadlifts, as well, don't know how that works either  ::)

12 sets bi's SS 12 sets tri's, 8 sets forearms, great pump, great session

was getting reedy to leave and a guy was getting all pumped for his 330 squats, I wanted to see it so I hung around for a few minutes, so then a girl next to me started to watch, then the guy in the next rack, then the guy on the bench. By the time he unracked there were 4 people watching him, he got 8 slow deep reps. About the last 2 or 3 of them he had no business attempting much less getting them. Shows what the power of an audience can do.

Final pre-op appt was today, Doc said stay out of the gym for 2 weeks. I had worse surgery and was back in the gym 5 days later so we shall see.

Back Day

Cable rows, 5 sets
Lat pulldowns, 4 sets
DB Rows, 3 sets
pullups, 3 sets
Yates cale rows, 3 sets

Kept it at about 85%, no straps & elbows bothering me

well the surgery recovery has been rough, but it's time to start back up with some light stuff

Shoulders

14 sets ~85%

Ear started feeling squishy at that point and was thinking of those delicate little grafts my doc spent 4 hours on. Can't believe how much the gym benefits my mental health, sure I would rather be benching 275  for unspotted reps, but I feel better than I have in quite awhile.

Cleared for heavy weight a week from today.
