Elbow Sleeves: what's good?
« on: May 31, 2018, 08:33:37 PM »
Been a huge fan of Inzer XT knee sleeves for years but I don't like them for my elbows.  Too bulky.

Getting old and wanting some elbow protection/support.

What are you using and/or what do you recommend?

Rheband is hard to beat, can leave them on full workout, minimal compression but supportive. Not much in the style department, would prefer just a single color but they gotta let everyone know you're wearing them.

Here's what I have. Just some plain compression sleeves. Keeps the joint nice and warm. Since I've been using them I haven't had any issues with my elbow. Before I got them any tri iso stuff like pressdowns caused my elbow all kinds of issues.

I have the large, arms just a little over 16". Snug but not too tight. Really the only times I pull them off is if I'm going for high reps on bi's and tri's. Then they get a little uncomfortable toward the end from the pump.

I've been using Rehband Elbow and Knee Sleeves for about 2 years.  I had been getting some pretty bad elbow tendonitis, and it has completely gone away since I started wearing the sleeves during my workouts.

They are a 5mm Neoprene Sleeve.  Model 7720 for the elbow sleeves,  Model 7751 for the knee sleeves.

I just put them in the washer/dryer once a week, and they have held up pretty well.

I use these from Dick's Sporting Goods. They seem to work pretty good. I can also leave these on for the whole workout.

Can't go wrong with SBD's, they are pricey but last forever.

I ordered a pair of SBDs today, and yes they are mad pricey here in Canada, and just in case I don't like them I got a pair of Mark Bell STrong sleeves too.

I think you are going to like the SBD's.  I was going to chime in with SBD, but you don't mess around.

I'm a fan of these but for the price, not so much.

I got both pairs last week and used them both. Both were size XXL and the SBDs fit very loose while the STs were very tight.

The SBDs are also a straight fit so don't fit snug around the elbow while the STs are curved and therefore fit better.

I much prefer the STs but they are of similar quality I think the sizing is the issue. If I had gone a size down on the SBDs they would be more snug and maybe not much of a difference. I probably won't use the SBDs just because they're not so snug.
