Four months to lose enough weight that when I don the stupid leotard I don't look like a sausage in its casing.  Are girdles allowed?  Do they still make girdles?

I have very bad stage fright.  I may get there and either throw up or faint.  The challenge presented here is not lifting heavy stuff, but doing it before an audience.  Even at the gym I close my eyes when I lift.

Nice 8) Maybe I'll come up and watch. Won't be competing as that's the season for girly muscles and tan, not strength.

Oh cool!  They must be expecting a good turnout if this is a new meet and it's already two days   8)

Lisa's going to lift, awesome!  Do not, repeat do not get an Inzer singlet.  They make all women look like sausages, no matter what they actually look like.  I had much better luck with this place, which at least offers a women's cut singlet.  The only thing I had to change was to cut out the elastic at the bottom of the leg because it was cutting off my circulation.  But the leg was long enough, I just sewed in some loser elastic and the leg wound up only a wee bit shorter.

You'll be fine!  My theory before my first meet was that I get stared at at the gym when I lift heavy anyway.  At a meet at least it's a friendlier, like-minded audience, so much nicer than being stared at by some yahoo on a treadmill.  And you've been to meets so you know how they're run, there won't be any surprises there.

I actually have been closing my eyes on heavy reps lately, I don't know why.  I've been telling people I can't stand to see anyone suffering, especially myself.   ;D

No personal experience with the Titans unfortunately.  Lisa, if you get one let me know how it fits!  My current reaction is to be wary of something designed primarily for men that is form-fitting, throwing a chest and hips in there doesn't necessarily work well.

Oh Kel, thank you so much!  Lovely words of encouragement.

Not a fan of the Inzer.  I agree with you.  I believe I need a singlet reinforced with whale bone like the Victorian corsets.  Does Spanx make a singlet?  ha ha!

Bando, I liked the colour-blocked pink and black one because I thought it might five an illusion of a slimmer figure.  At the end of the day, they don't leave much to the imagination, so I can't rely much on trickery.  But I do like the look of that one.

I never wear a weightlifting belt, but am considering one for camouflage purposes!  Is it against the rules to wear a nice little apron over the singlet?  ;D

I'll let you know what I end up with and the pros and cons of it.

LISA:  It's a POWERLIFTING meet.

No one gives a fuck what you look like; they only care how much you lift.

LOL if enough women get involved with wrestling and/or powerlifting, Spanx probably would come out with something.  Perhaps if we can trick young women everywhere into thinking they will get the squat booty of their dreams just by wearing singlets...

P.S. It's OK if you hit Flex  ;D
