strength shop 10mm lever belt
« on: January 10, 2016, 01:19:06 AM »
Does anybody have any input on these belts? http://www.strengthshopcanada.ca/belts/10mm-lever-belt
found them advertising on kijiji and looked em up. It's synthetic leather which I'm not sure exactly what that consists of but seems like a decent price.  Some other interesting stuff there as well.  I think it's fairly new.  I'd like to hear opinions or first hand experience if anyone has any.

I don't know about that belt specifically, but strength shop is a good brand.  I got my knee wraps from them and they're great quality.

I dunno about the synthetic leather though.  Leather belts tend to work in a bit, like a baseball glove over time.  I'd tend towards a real leather belt.

I know a few people that have that one, and it's pretty good. Almost all of them, though, use it as a temporary belt, before they spend $100 in a solid 10 or 13mm belt.
I agree with Flex, getting a real leather belt is likely a better step, but it has a break-in period.

Good to know it's a good company. I might take a look.  I'm on a bit of a budget but want to get a belt.  If it lasts a few years but works well I'll call it money well spent.  I'll throw up a review if I decide to buy it.  Although I'm not sure how thorough it will be as I have never used a belt.  Thanks for the info.

If you're going into, knowing you'll eventually buy another one, that belt is a good choice.

Do it, and give us some info how it felt pulling/lifting the same weight with and with out the belt.

Always like to read a new review.

You can find a 10mm rogue belt on ebay for 50 bucks if you look around.

thanks again everyone. Just a question further to the belt. I'm 6'1" but the space between my ribs and top of my hip bone is narrow on my sides. For those who wear a 4" belt does it cross any bones either bottom of rib cage or top if the hip bone? Again this is strictly on my sides. I really don't want to loose any benefit from the full size belt but don't want to waste money if it's not going to work for me. Just trying to get as much info as possible before I spring for a belt. There doesn't seem to be much info on the net regarding this possible predicament.

Can honestly say I've never heard of the width being an issue for anyone.

I'm only 5'10.5" and have a 4" wide belt with no issues.
