Anybody else lifting with a hernia?
« on: April 25, 2012, 07:20:11 PM »
I have two, one is an umbilical hernia that doesn't hurt - had for a while.  The other is new, an inguinal, and it flares up and I have to work around it sometimes.  Eventually, I'll have surgery but for now just trying to get by.  Anyone else lifting with one?

Never had one.

It's 3 days out of your life, go get it fixed.

the sooner you get it done the sooner you get back to it.

on the other hand the longer you wait the higher risk of it getting worse it there

I agree monkey plus surgery has come along way since mine, over 10 years.

I should add i do have a hiatel hernia. Which rarely affects my lifts, but does give some reflex issues. Also it often feels like my lower is back again. But doc feels it is painf from my back issues

Yeah I figure to get em both done at the same time.  The umbilical one doesn't hurt and is about 5 years old.  I want to get rid of it just from an appearance standpoint.

I have a double hernia in my lower abdomen. Doc told me if it wasn't bothering me physically or mentally to leave it alone and keep lifting weights to strengthen the muscle around it.
