Reduni's Log.
« on: September 16, 2016, 10:06:36 AM »
So I figured I'll start a journal. I currently use jefit to record everything but it's a bit of a pain in the ass to look back at workouts. I'm running wendlers 5/3/1 BBB right now and have run a few cycles. I started light and will work up slowly. After spending a week in the hospital with rhabdo I'd rather go slow and stay healthy. No rush. I'll post some vids to for proof and a critique or too as well.

I'm on week 3 so I'll start there.

OHP
60x5
65x5
75x3
90x5
700x3
110x15
60x10 5 sets

chin/pull ups ( I alternate grips)
5x10 (last few were partials)

next session

deadlift

140x5
165x5
195x3
235x5
260x3
290x15
125x10x5

hanging leg raise

5sets of 10

today is bench day so we'll see how that goes

I work out every other day. It's what works with my schedule and plenty of rest. I do some cardio on the off days or some stretching.
Been pretty good so far but I'm below my maxes right now. Hopefully I'll bust through them if I stay steady.

Been lifting for 6 or 7 years on and off. Gotten better but really struggled with some exercises like squats. Who would have thought bending down and standing up would be so technical.

Welcome to the journals.  :)

I'm also running 531 BBB. While I'm on cycle 13 I've actually ran way more cycles than that.

Oh, and I struggle with squats too. Damn squats....... >:(

As promised today was bench day so here's the numbers. 3rd week so it was 5 3 1+.  It actually went well. I'll post the vid when I upload it later.

Bench
100x5
120x5
140x3
170x5
190x3
210x12
90x10x5

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEP2JzGBAtI

I switched out one arm dumbbell rows with bent over row. Feels better for me.

140x10x5

added a couple sets of ab wheel rollouts from the knees 2x10

all in all felt pretty good. Next is squats which is supposed to be sunday but I have an extremely physical course on the weekend so I may put it off till Monday.

welcome to the journals, that bench strength is impressive, 210x12. Thats a lot of reps for your 1+ day. You must have started much lower than 90% of your true 1RM

I started fairly low and am working my way back up. I'd rather do that than injure myself.  I'm working on my form as well. Baby steps 😀

Welcome to the journals.  I have been known to struggle with squats from time to time myself.  Mostly all the time :D

Yesterday was squats. Wasn't too bad but my first rep on my +1 something tweaked in my left knee. I finished the sets but it forced me into a deload week to see how things go. I'm wondering if my weekend caused the twinge in my knee. I was doing a physically demanding course for work. Was crawling around on my knees most of the weekend. I doubt it but who knows.

squat

105x5
120x5
140x3
165x5
185x3
205x10
95x10x5

Norwegian falls

5x5

Today was the first day of deload

OHP

60x5
65x5
75x3
60x10x5

pull/chin ups

10x5

I also added some vids to earlier posts.

Solid rep numbers for your + sets.

Proceed with caution on the knee. I did something similar a couple years ago and tried to jump back at squats too soon. That caused me to have to back off squats for another 4 weeks. Oddly enough leg press and DL's didn't bother it so at least I got some legs done. When I did start squats back up again I had to drop 40lbs off the bar and build back up.
