Finally got my registration in!  I've managed to completely screw up my training this time around, so I'm coming off a one week emergency deload and hoping I can make a 3.5 week heavy / peaking phase work for me.  I'm gonna wind up missing my first meet this year and then come crawling into my second meet lol.

Ugh  :(  Are bench and deads still ok?

Bench is fine, not going to attempt deads, did squat the bar x2 today.

Not sure where exactly the pain is ( saw hip mentioned) but what has worked for me in the past was getting some frog stretches in throughout the day, hit the good girl bad girl machine for light weights lots of reps and foam roll the piriformis ( as well as the IT bands ).
1 set, 1 rep, 1 pound at a time

Check my journal  :D

Pretty comfortable now after getting some blood pumping through it. I'm happy to just be able to go up and down stairs without pain right now.

There's a trainer at my gym who wanted to compete in this comp but signed up for the PA one instead. 1st comp. I see him at the gym all the time and anytime I mention a peaking program or offer any suggestions his eyes just glaze over as if he's thinking "I'm a trainer, I got this." Well, actually he doesn't got it, he's working on his 1RM bench pause for a September event. I mention today that I injured my hip, which you think a trainer would say "well I have some stuff to fix that" - and he's a trainer for my work, so I can use his "services" for free. Nope his eyes glazed over for that as well.

I really wish he had signed up for Buffalo so I could say "I told you so."  ::)

Bee sting on my foot got infected, can't train at all, on antibiotics.  :'(

Thinking of switching to the Campus Chaos event and inviting my club to compete with me.

That's some bad luck you've been having lately, sorry to hear it!  Can't blame you for wanting to swap out for another meet, it's hard to prepare for one when you can't train for it  :(

Bad luck, Karma, take your pick, but 2 "injuries" in a 6 week peaking program is a game changer.

Ironic that my heavy prep hasn't caused any issues, but a fuking bee and few days of walking 11 miles messed me all up.

Still want to come out and support our lifters who can manage not to step on a bee 3 weeks out.

Doc says he thinks I have Gout and prescribed a medication that should get rid of it quickly.

Apparently this is brought on by drinking alot of beer :o

I've never had gout and I think I drink more beer than 99.9% of the population.
