Balance Boarding
« on: September 27, 2015, 03:42:00 PM »
With ANW on the brain, balance training is becoming a larger part of my daily activities. I think the SI board is my favorite balance "game" yet. It's a lot of fun.

Feels a lot like surfing a wave except you don't have any water pressure (or fin) to lean into and stabilize on.

A couple people I met growing up in Sun Valley used stuff like that during the off season to improve for skiing.
Tried it once…ai yi yi was it tough and that was back in HS when I could run along the edge of a concrete ditch for a couple hundred yards without losing my balance.

I haven't seen that particular kind before, the ones with the cylinder under were popular a while back, but I've never seen one with a ball underneath, you make it look easy cmoore,  I know it's not though. It does look fun.

I would love to surf. Maybe I should try one of these first so I can see just how uncoordinated I really am.  :o  ;D

You make that look easy cmoore.  The last time I tried something like that I nearly broke my hip.  I was trying to show my son how to do an ollie on his skateboard.  I'm pretty sure I fell faster than I did when I was a teen.
