Guys who don't have low BF but have a six-pack, WTF?

There are a few of these guys at my gym.  They have muscle mass but they're not tight, ripped, vascular, or even very lean. But they have freakin' abs!  There was a guy in the locker room yesterday who I'd never seen before, not lean looking at all, but his abs were like cobblestones.

I guess I'm jealous.  In 2011 (when I was using the office fitness center) I was doing tons of ab work at least 3 times a week.  And not easy shit either.  I was doing weighted ab work -- heavy -- and very strict hanging leg raises -- a lot of 'em.  Then I cut all the way down to 149 lbs.  Friends said I was ripped.  Arms and lower legs were sick with veins.  Still no abs. 

Grumble grumble grumble...

Everyone holds their fat differently and in different places.

When I was in my early 20's I got absolutely SHREDDED and still didn't have visible abs.  Had striations on my arms, chest, shoulders and quads.  And still a nice little layer of fat across my abs.

So I guess it can work both ways.

Fat with abs checking in  ;D

Rockin the abs with muffin top = not ripped...I really dont even train abs unless as an afterthought, just deads and squats mostly. Genetic not just fat storage, but size of the abs.
