ugh, been sick all weekend, started Friday and put me down all weekend, head and chest cold, seems to be easing up today.
So far, none of my meets have panned out.  Just too much personal shit with work up in the air, I really wanted to go to the Buffalo meet, but there's no way I'll be able to make it.  I've cancelled all trips this year until I get my work situation more stable.  Hoping to do a local meet in November with RPS.
Starting a new program today, going to give Candito's program a try, looks pretty rough though, squatting and DL'ing same day twice a week and benching 3 times a week...phuuuucck.  Giving it a test run this week. Break down will look like this:
Current maxes set to
Bench:415
Squat: 545 (sleeved..it's just easier for now, will adjust for wraps later)
DL:550
Week 1 - Muscular Conditioning (W/ Moderate Difficulty)
Mon:
Squat:435x4x6
DL: 440x2x6

Tues:
BP:
210x10
280x10
310x8
320x6

BB Row

OHP

lat pull down

Wed:
same as Tues

Thurs:
Squat: 380x4x8
DL
385x2x8

Fri:
BP: 330xMR
bb Row
OHP
lat pulldown

each day has 2 additional optional excercises and I'll play those by ear.

Well, that's the plan...be back after lunch to let you know how it goes.

yeah, sucks the big one.  Just found out the end of last week (at this job) that if you haven't received a formal offer already, you won't be getting one.  Looks like only a few select exec's were given offers, so....that's that.  We were told to keep working until we are told otherwise so it's time to start pimping my resume to more places and getting a move on it.

That really sucks Brad. Sorry to hear you didn't get an offer. I hope you find something in short order and can jump ship to a better position.

Thanks Eric, I'm not surprised, I knew they already had their own accountants so I wasn't expecting anything.  I'm just ready to move on and get something new going so I can get back to enjoying life and getting to some meets where I can meet some of the guys from here.

Day 1 candtito
I survived, The DL's were pretty easy, the squats were exhausting.
Squats:
135x2x10
225x2x5
315x5
405x1
working sets:
435x4x6

DL:
135x5
225x5
315x1
435x2x6 (supposed to be 440 but there are no 2.5's at this gym,  will need to buy my own I guess)

5 minutes on row machine....that's all the time I had.

After being sick all weekend, and still not great today..70%, I was happy to get through this.

PS--I can't believe how expensive 2.5lb plates are!!!! @$10 each!! wtf?   I thought they ran about a $1/lb ??!!

Thanks brother, can't wait till I get to the easy part, lol

Day 4:
Squats:
385x4x8

DL
385x2x8

Both were fairly easy, but still pretty exhausting.   That's all I had time for today, had to cut short so didn't have time for cardio or optional exercises.

Day 5 Deviating
Bench:
Chambered bar
135x2x10
225x2x6
315x2x3

Regular bar drop set Larsson press:
315x6/225x10/135x16

BORs: roughly 10 second rest between sets
135x10
working sets:
225x10
225x10
245x8
275x6

Military press:
180x12
230x12
270x10
290x8

Lat pulldown (cable machine...strict form, no leaning back)
120x12
130x12
150x10
130x8

also worked in some tricep extensions between sets

OK, so I've been thinking about the program, espeacially bench and I don't like it, I think benching 3x's a week is not conducive to a powerlifting program.  So I'm changing the program to something more appropriate and what I know works.  I'll be keeping the squat/Dl program the same and the post bench work the same, but as far as bench is concerned I'll be running it twice a week following Brad Gillinghams program which breaks down to one heavy day and on light day.   So if you did the math in your head, I only have 4 days of lifting, I'll break that extra day in the middle for something like cardio, accessory work or something fairly easy, but allowing the body to heal and take a break for a day.  Well, that's the plan anyways.  I just know I can't do press work like this 3x's a week, my joints are already cracking and hurting.

Yeah, I don't know how people run Candito. I've looked at his programs and I don't have that kind of recovery anymore.
Maybe if I was in my 20's and could take naps in the afternoon, but now...no way.
