Sometimes gravity just doesn't want to play nice on deads. Still salvaged some good pulls in there Eric, revenge pulls next session!

If I'm beat mentally or physically dead lifts can be very frustrating.  Either your body or mind needs a break.

Thanks Gents.
I haven't been sleeping all that great. Between that and the calorie restriction it's expected I'm going to struggle on the top end. I'm going to get in the mindset of worrying about dropping weight and not worry about the amount I can lift. I'll worry about that for the calorie surplus this fall.

Wed July 12, 2017

Back and bi day

DB rows - single arm
50x12
75x10
100x2x8 <- at least I can still lift the 100's  ::)

Machine rows
200x4x6
120x10

Wide lat pulldown
120x3x10

V-bar lat pulldown
120x2x10

BB bi curls 60 sec rest between sets
95x4
75x8
55x10

DB standing iso curls

20x10

Walking out the door grabbed the 35lb DB and did one set of iso curls...managed 4 reps...lol

Decent day. Still not sleeping that great. Weight is heading in the right direction again. Down to 186.2. Like to see 185 sometime next week.

Great looking back and bi work Eric. Think accepting temporary strength loss while dieting is the key to success. It comes back, always does.

Yeah, I know the strength comes back. I've done enough bulk/cuts over the past couple of years to realize that, still doesn't mean it's not frustrating. That's the nice thing about feedback from other lifters. We all get in the same boat and can provide some good perspective/reality injections when needed. Was just hoping DL would continue to climb a bit like squats have.

Eh, it's not forever, and I'm on track to get where I want to be toward the end of Aug. Just have to look to Sept and the following months for some real gainz! lol

Thurs July 13, 2017

Bench day

135x2x5
155x3
190x5
215x3
240x3 (1+)
240x3
225x4
201x2x5

SS Single arm lateral delt raise/tri pressdown w/ straight bar
30x10/80x12
35x8/90x10
40x6/80x10
40x6/100x7
20x16/100x7

Decent day.
Got a new neutral grip lat pulldown bar for the gym. It weighs between 10-20 lbs. I was using it to do tri pressdowns the first 2 sets. One of the other guys wanted to swap bars, I said fine, but I had to drop back down to 80. If that heavy bar had still been on there I'd have repped out 110 and 120 on tri pressdown  ;D

Deload week
Light and easy.

DB shoulder lateral raises single arm
15x3x12

BBBP
155x3x10

Lat pulldown
80x3x12

SS tri rope OTH press/DB iso curls
30x3x20/15x3x10

15 mins on the dreadmill, 3.5 mph.

Just enough to get the blood flowing and that's about it. Realized I haven't taken a deload week for a while and I'm to the point I needed one.
