I shoveled snow for my cardio today.

Been there, done that. Welcome to the journals.
My back hates me.

Thanks

I can manage it because I watch tv shows while walking. Helps take my mind off the cardio.

I highly recommend buying a tablet. I use an Ipad Mini while I am walking on my treadmill with the Netflix app and it has endless hours of entertainment for me during my cardio.
Seems like a big investment at first, but I use it all the time.

When I first started to try to get back in shape, I walked/jogged on the treadmill during hockey games.  As long as they were playing, I had to keep walking.  I upped the speed during power plays and took my breaks between periods.  Overtime games sucked but I lost a bunch of weight keeping it interesting.

Yeah, I am really enjoying my current cardio routine. I used to hate cardio, but with an Ipad it is almost painless.

Saturday:

Chest/Delts -

BB Bench Press: 3 x 8 reps of 195lbs
I decided to try BB instead of DB bench. I prefer DB, but might do BB occasionally.

BB Paused Bench Press: 2 x 8 reps of 155lbs
Really felt this in my chest. Was good to do.

Half Rep Bench: 1 x 10 reps of 135lbs/1 x 8 reps of 135lbs
First half was from fully extended to half way down, then right after that I went from chest to half way up. I enjoy this because it burns my chest out.

Flys: 3 x 12 reps of 20lbs - light
I prefer cable, but it was taken so I settled for DB

BB OHP: 3 x 12 reps of 95lbs - light
I don't think I will be doing this again. I prefer DB press.

Lateral Raise: 3 x 12 reps x 20lbs - moderate
I really felt this by going slightly lighter than usually.

Rear Delt Flys: 3 x 10 reps of 10 lbs

I have an iPad mini and a fullsize iPad. Unfortunately, the only internet I have at home right now is my iphone's hot spot. Netflix used up to 7G of data an hour. I have a 10G data plan.  :S  That's not gonna cut it. lmao

Legs/Arms:

Leg Extensions: 3 x 12 reps of 140lbs - light

Squats: 3 x 8 reps of 205lbs

Last set was pretty tiring. Back was sore from shoveling so that was probably why.

Leg Press - Crowded gym. Was taken so substituted with hamstring curls.

Hamstring Curls: 3 x 12 reps of 140lbs

No Calves today b/c too crowded.

Cable Curls: 3 x 12 reps of 57.5 lbs

Rope Pushdowns: 3 x 12 reps of 60lbs

Seated DB Curls: 3 x 10-12 reps of 30lbs

Overhead Extensions:  3 x 12 reps of 25lbs - light, will go up next week.

Overall, the workout was good.

Hope that helps man.

Thanks, I saw that. Unfortunately my account is a shared account and that would knock everyone down to my low settings. Video quality and playback sucks at those low rates. :dunno:

Looks like a great workout. I wish 3x12 @ 140 for leg extensions was light for me.  :jester:

Ah darn. Another thing to make cardio more enjoyable is listening to Podcasts. On Iphone, you can download the app and pre-download the podcasts you want to listen to. It helps because you do not need internet connection when listening to them, unless you stream them.

You'll get there soon. I'm also heavier than you.

It may help that my leg extensions are single leg. So, I do 70 with 1 leg and then the other. I normally use them to warm up my knees for squats. I may just do a different warm up for squats and do heavy leg extensions.
