Ok, so Utica is out. My youngest is receiving his first holy communion that weekend. I'm Italian, so we overdo these things. I think I spent more on each of my daughters communions than I did on my wedding.

NH Vermont rps here we go. The meet is in the beggining of April and 1,400 is the goal. I plan on using this thread to log my progress.  For those that don't know I've used Josh Bryant for my programming since I decided to try strength training three years ago.  He's the one that suggested I do a powerlifting meet. I thought he was nuts. I did my first meet at 41 and here I am 8 meets later and I still can't get enough of this strength training thing.  I've got one more heavy week to finish out, then I think Josh will train me off season style until it's time to go heavy again.  I just hope my body can handle it. I'm feeling pretty mashed up. I definitely think improving sleep, mobility, and diet will keep me upright. Just hard to be disciplined with those three. 

Tried to squat this morning but my knees where having no part of it. I'll bench tonight and post vids up here to kick this off.

I did end up benching last night. Felt good, but the videos told a different story. Smoked 330 at a meet on the 10th, but all of my five 305 singles looked like crap last night. Did five 245 triples after but the where fine. The accessory work to follow was a bitch though. I've only had one workout I felt good about since my last meet. Back to back meets got me pretty mashed up last month. It was a bad idea, but still glad I got it done.

Wanted to give the knees a little more time off, so it was the deadlift workout.  I'll get the squats done Friday.  Form sucks, but the weight moved fast enough.  475 double, then a bunch of 390 speed dead triples, followed by accessory stuff.

I do wrap my knees, and wear sleeves for light stuff.  Last time I tried to squat I wrapped with 315 which I usually don't do, and when I took the wraps off my knees where really barking.  Especially my left one.  No major pain, just sore.  That's why I think it's just inflamed and nothing broken in there.

Finally got my squat day in. Knees where better, but just sore enough to throw me off. My top sets where a few 380 triples, then some 340 pause triples. Came forward on a bunch of reps and I haven't done that in forever. Finished off with ghd's and mcgill sit ups.  I need my knees to cooperate if I'm hitting 1,400 this year.

Haven't been on here much lately.  Just too many irons on the fire.  My lifting was in the tank between my knees, other ass aches, and life getting in the way.  It's now or never because my meet April 8th is right around the corner.  Bench has been off.  I've been barley moving low 3's.  My deads have been off as well where 5 hundo moved really slow last week.  Squats have been off, but not terrible.  Squatted yesterday, and considering I lifted four days in a row to get back on the volume train it wasn't half bad.  I had to work up to a 460 singe.  It moved fine considering I came forward.  Also did a bunch of 375 safety bar dead squats.  These suck, but I have a sick love hate relationship with dead squats and dead bench.
