2017 Goals?
« on: December 31, 2016, 10:17:32 AM »
Not resolutions since most of us already lift, goals.
Resolutions are best intentions and lies we tell ourselves it would be nice to do but we never end up doing them.
Resolutions can be found on bb.com and PlanetFitness.

We're qualitatively different here on IS.
We have goals, clear, concise, and realistic plans to get us to an end point and then move up from there.

What are your workout, training, stage, platform, and gainz goals for 2017?
What are you doing to ensure you stick to them?

Remember, failing to plan is planning to fail.

4 plate squat.
Get on a platform in the FSI amature summer event.
Not injure myself in the process.

Survive another year.

Rehab the shoulder and get back to cracking a 3 plate bench (shooting for 335).

Specifically:

Bench 335
Squat 375
DL      425

All while dropping down to around 190.

How I'll get there is by taking it slow and steady and ACTUALLY deload for recovery.

Bench 305 pr
OHP 165 pr
Squat 315 pr
Deadlift 385 pr

No specific goals other than getting back to #205, the neds the cardiologist has me on are a bitch and are making loss tough which for me is usually pretty damn easy.

I want (please, please, pretty please!) to bench 135 gracefully and with judges' approval.  Just flaming once, for the love of all that is good on this green Earth.

I am working towards a 250 squat in April, and hopefully match or improve my 255 deadlift.
Last meet lifts:  245/125/285
April 2017:  235/130/255

To hit my first meet in Utica the strongest version of myself I have ever been. Hoping this will be the start of a continuous trend where I compete and get stronger every year until I physically can't anymore!
My other goal after the meet will be to diet down for summer, get so lean I will see my heartbeat through my chest and the vascularity of my coronary arteries:)

Goals:

To stay on track (despite a lot of stuff that will be taking my time).

If I am up for it at the time, finally get in REALLY good shape for the summer.   I think I could strike at it this year without having to kill myself to achieve.

Side goal:  Maintain the perspective to realize I could be more helpful at times.   There are some truly good people out there deserving of a push in the right direction.   Taking the time to remember that not everyone is a troll.  (none here actually!).

Happy new year everyone!

Get back into the routine. Consistency.

Walk the straight and narrow leading up to my term life insurance renewal in the spring.  Was quite a hot mess a decade ago when the first policy was taken out. My wife is 6 years my elder and her premium was almost a quarter of mine. My goal is seeing how much my turn around means to those underwriters, hopefully get some validation of these past years of adjusting lifestyle to promote longevity.

That'll be all my sights are set on until June,  then work will consume my life yet again for a few months, and then I'll get back to balance around September and reevaluate from there.

With as busy as I've been these past few months, I haven't put much thought into goals for the new year.

I was often chasing Flex, but I do believe that I won't catch him this year.  That 1605 is just too far out of my reach.  Even more so, as I turn 45 this year and that bumps me out of this RPS division into another. New records, that are mostly way out of my reach.  Although in Utica in a few months, I'll be aiming to break my own deadlift record, that's lasted since 2014...

I plan on competing twice this year.  April, and then likely November.

Crack the 550lb Squat, 350 Bench, and a 620 Deadlift.

Stay in the 242's and get leaner and stronger. I have Quad veins now, and that's a new thing.  Of course, only in the right light and after I've had massive quantities carbs...
Do not fear The Iron, for it does not care.

Unless acted upon by a Superior Force.
Squat: 545; Bench: 350; Deadlift: 610; Total: 1490

At this point my only goals are to stay on the path I've been able to get back on. I'm in the gym regularly again and gaining solid weight and size, I wanna hit a 315 bench by February 1st and I don't wanna look like a total mess by June 1st
