Off day today.  Got in a 3.8 km walk in this morning.  Last night was 3 sessions in a row so break is well earned.  Back is feeling pretty tender this morning.   Start week 2 tomorrow with some 5x5 squats and more 7s on bench!

I think youíre setting up for a good cycle of bench

I hope so, Bench has been going well for quite some time now.  I really want to keep pushing it hard these next few months.  Looking  for a tripe with 245 by the end of this cycle.

Moving right along Dave!
Working sets of 7, unless it's about 50% 1rm, makes me tired  ;D

7s are the work of the devil.  I hate them lol

TSA
Round 2
Week 2 l Day 1

Squats

5 x 240
5 x 240
5 x 240
5 x 240
5 x 240

Bench

7 x 180
7 x 180
7 x 180
7 x 180

CGBP

6 x 155
6 x 155
6 x 155
6 x 155

BB Rows

6 x 180
6 x 180
6 x 180
6 x 180

Squats felt great.  240 felt light.  Depth got a bit better as reps went on and I fully loosened up. Bench felt like an easy warmup for sets 1 and 2 and it started getting a bit heavier near the end but nothing unmanageable.  Overall good session.  Felt like crap yesterday and was on the couch most of the day with a stomach that was just killing me.  Seems to have gone away whatever it was.

Yeah I do as well.  Push pull a lot and squat 2x week.  No other stuff to it at all.  First day of the week is always long though.

TSA
Round 2
Week 2 l Day 2

Deads

4 x 350
3 x 350
F x 350
4 x 315
4 x 315

Grip is not there today at all and versa grips weren't helping.  I get pretty bad eczema in my hands and it can make deadlifting a pain sometimes.  Failed grip on a few warm up sets even and my lower back took a pounding on all of these missed reps.  I'm really thinking my deadlift needs some serious work.  I was missing reps last round of TSA too.  I'll spend this cycle working on my form and trying to tighten up.

Bench
5 x 190
5 x 190
5 x 190
5 x 190
5 x 190

Didn't do any rows.  Back is completely beat up.

Still no bar  >:(  Fuck UPS

I wouldn't worry too, too much about grip unless you were losing it on the first rep.  You only need to hold onto something heavy for what, 5 sec max then put it down in a comp.  Doing volume work isn't the same. Still looks like a productive session.

Sucks about that bar.  I'm guessing that's on UPS and not Rogue?  I've never had any issues at all with Rogue with shipping.  That bar really chews up your neck with highbar squatting.  Found that out this week.  May need to switch back to the B&R bar for a while.  For lowbar, the OPB rocks.

do you follow Alan Thrall on IG? His deadlift form has been on point lately. He really dialed it in since he started getting coached from Austin Baraki. Watch how he uncoils his spine and gets his back into extension before he pulls. Super obvious in his videos how he is doing it.  I am trying to work this technique prior to each lift also, but struggling with it.

The bars never coming is my new thought process lol   It's been a bit of both.  Rogue had a lot of problems getting it off to me but once they did it's all been on UPS.  I get the time of year and all that but this will be the 4th date change since it's shipped.  Pretty annoying.

Very good point on only needing to pull 1 rep at the meet. I'm not losing any sleep over the deads (except for sore lower back lol) but my form I do believe is also an issue right now even though my battered up hands caused a lot of my missed reps yesterday.

Nice session, hope the hands clear up soon, that's gotta be near impossible to pull a heavy bar with both hands hurting like that. I honestly think your form is ok but nothing wrong with some tweaks. Strong benching!

Tough session with the deads Dave. It can mess with your head sometimes.  I'm sure you'll work through it though. Shawn said it right about little tweaks. Even the big guys change little things to get that tiny bit more.

Waiting for the bar must really suck. I hate waiting for something I know is coming.
