Squat - form check
« on: June 20, 2015, 09:15:23 PM »
I think I need to sit back a little bit more or keep my upper half more upright on these... only because I don't see myself really breaking parallel and, from a power-lifting point of view, I don't think these count as full reps due to depth.

Feet are slightly more than shoulder width apart.

Training partners call it good, I see it as shallow for a 'good call'.

I feel as though I can't go deeper, so I need to change my form a little if I need to get lower. Or maybe I can.. I dunno.. feels like I bottom out.

I think I am doing what I used to do. I see the knees going a little bit too far forward, I think I need to keep my torso a little more upright to correct. So, bending my top half too far forward is probably my issue here...

Open for suggestions, thoughts, critique, comments about my lack of calves(this is the worse angle for my puny ass calves.. /facepalm).. anything goes here..

   Thanks!

Good squat, if just a tad bit above parallel. People can't even get that low with 135lbs at my gym, let alone 400+Lbs. Are you comfortable with Chuck Taylor's? Have you tried with just socks- FLEX style? :D
EVERYTHING you put in your body matters IF you want to reach your maximum potential.

I started with socks and moved to Chucks. I am good with the Chucks for squats and deads.

A recent PR actually..

Thanks...

Form looked fine.

Depth was questionable....

OK good, I  just need to push lower then. I was thinking I may be out of alignment somewhere... hence feeling as though I hit bottom.

I thought I had 2 really good reps there. Video shows shallow reps to me.
