Good effort though! I mean you went and got the last 2 reps on bench. Some guys would have skipped it.

The lat pulldown was cool. It is interesting to see the muscles actually contract. Not something you get to see normally except for bi's and tri's with a mirror.

Strong session Rich, squats are moving along very smooth. If it makes you feel any better your bench session pretty much mirrors a few of mine on this exact day. Something about those 7's just wipes me dafuq out!

Strong session Rich, squats are moving along very smooth. If it makes you feel any better your bench session pretty much mirrors a few of mine on this exact day. Something about those 7's just wipes me dafuq out!


Thanks everyone. I'm happy with the squats but I had a feeling bench would be tough yesterday. I'm sure I would have had it with t n' g bench but I do like the paused. I was going to try and just rep out the last 2 reps but it just wasn't going to happen. When I went back at it, the last 2 were paused again but no dice for a 3rd revenge rep.

Anyways, here's the vids from yesterday. That last bench set isn't on there. My camera memory was full. >:(

vid is of set 1 and 5 of squat, set 1 of bench and set 3 cgbp. Even got a small pause on my last rep of squats. emphasis on small

Had an odd day today. I got all my reps but things felt strange. Everything felt quite strong but I have no other words for it but strange. Oh well.

TSA week 4 day 2

warm ups

Dead's

135 x 8
225 x 5
315 x 3

working sets

350 x 4 x 4

bench press

230 x 5 x 5 paused.

pull ups

bw+25 x 4 x 6 @ rpe 9

I got all my reps paused on bench. It seems that 5 reps is the magic number for paused. The right combo of intensity and volume

Pullups were ok till the last rep. Squat 7's on Friday.

Had a late one yesterday. Not bad overall but overshot ohp a little.

Tsa week 4 day 3

Warm ups

Seated ohp

145 x 8 @rpe 9
145 x 7 +1 @rpe 10
135 x 7 @rpe 10

Narrow cable row

190 x 4 x 10 @rpe 8.5

Glute thrust

255 x 3 x 6 @rpe 8

Went fine despite ohp. I racked for a few seconds then got the last rep 2nd set. Then lowered for the 3rd. I couldnt get the last rep and put it down on the safties and was too lazy to rerack it hence only 7reps.

Thats it

Thanks Shawn. I feel I'm doing ok but the left hamstring has been nagging me and hasn't improved. I start week 5 tomorrow and that will be a challenge. Then I'm off for a week on vacation. Hopefully the rest will fix things up.

Had an OK day yesterday. Bench felt heavy but got my reps. CGBP started at 245 but I knew it wasn't going to happen over all the sets so I dropped to 225 and did all the sets at that. It's been a busy few days and nutrition has been shit so I hope that's all it is.

Thanks Shawn. Week 5 is tough for sure with the accumulated volume. Bench was tough today. Squats are feeling the most comfortable right now.


Start of week 5 today. Squats were good. Bench and cgbp was tough today. There was no way I could pause all my reps on flat bench and cgbp was a little bit of a bust. Not far off but fatigue set in. BOR's went well though.  :D

nice job, jealous of your BOR's. I've got tendonitis in my elbow right now and it hurts if i row even an empty bar. Have fun on the vacation!
