2022 nationals
« on: May 02, 2021, 03:41:06 PM »
So I knew nationals was going to be in New Hampshire next year 😎. Then when they officially announced it I saw that the events favor me 🥳. Then I saw the weights 🤮🤮🤮.

Holy crap, they donít mess around. Light weight masters (under 198) uses the same weights as middle weight (under 220) masters.

Odd object clean and press for time:  steel cube 215lbs, sandbag 200, keg 200

Mammoth bar last man standing deadlift: opening weight 575 lbs

Barry carry: 275 lbs

Farmers handle hold for time :  220 per hand

Stone to shoulder: 250 lb

Iíve qualified for nationals in three out of the five shows I did, but also tore my bicep in one 😢.

Think if I donít do it while itís local Iím gonna kick myself in the ass. 🤷‍♂️

If you don't compete I would offer to help out. I don't know about strongman but in Powerlifting if you spot & load you got a 1st class seat to see some great PR's, happy people and a few amazing lifts.

The guy that is training me now is one of the guys running it, and I know the other guy as well.  I'd have access to all the stuff.  I know I want to do it, but I'm not sure I want to put in the time it's going to take to be competitive.  I can qualify without killing myself, but I have a hard time doing anything half ass.

I've only been to one pl meet that I wasn't competing in, and it drove me crazy being there and not lifting.  I honestly think that with my personality, I'd really kick myself in the ass if I was there watching.  It would be like that odd porn stuff where there's a dude with the guys wife (totally don't get that one).  I'm not big on sharing.   ;D

The killer is I'll be 49 when I compete, and the 50+ weights I could walk into a gym and handle right now!
