Squats are looking strong Rich! Do you have another pin for your stack? You could put it in the stack further up and hang some plates off it for more weight.

Thanks Andrew. Squats are feeling good right now. I'm starting test week so I'm hoping to be near my pr but we'll see. I wish my bench was feeling that good :-[

Finished off week 8 today. Been a little off schedule with the holidays and everything that's been happening. It went well but doing cgbp right after flat bench hurt the bottom line a little.

If you're feeling messed up from the holiday's, maybe try to repeat week 8 next week before going into test week if you have the time.  No need to rush it.

No rush here Ron. Nothing feels wrong, just the schedule is messed up with the holidays. That and we've had a lot of snow here so I've spent a lot of time moving it. Holidays are now over so things should go back to normal.

i see your bench and cgbp numbers are matching. Is that usually what you experience, or were your flat bench sets less than 8.5RPE?


When I entered my bench max for the program I undershot it. Flat bench form and strength at the start was way off but has since come back fairly well. The numbers should be higher for flat than cgbp but that's what the program had me doing. Next cycle should be the other way around.



Begin test week. I had a rough night and felt like hell yesterday so I wasn't holding much hope for a great start but I swallowed some aleve and hit the gym. Set 2 consecutive pr's to finish the year so I' happy. I think there was a little more there but my form was off a bit. The last attempt had the bar roll up a bit but not enough to ruin the lift. I called it there and skipped the rows.

that's it. I don't think I'll pr on bench or dead but I'll be happy with high 200's for bench and around 425 or so for deads. We'll have to see how things go.

Thanks Shawn. Squats are feeling good right now so I'm not suprised with the pr's. I'm hoping to hit 400 wrapped in april. Actually I'm hoping to beat everything I did at last years meet. Things feel pretty good right now and still lots of time to get there. I'm in a better position that this time last year so I'm building on a better platform. But then you never know what will happen the day of the meet.  ::)

Thanks Andrew. I'd say it was pretty close to a 10. Like I said, I think there was maybe 5 - 10 lbs more if form was perfect.

Bench test day today. It went fairly well and I got to where I expected. Hit a 290 bench for a single but it wouldn't have counted cause my ass was off the bench. Not far but enough to dq it. Ground my way through the rep and ended there. I'm happy with it overall but I'll use my last good rep as my 1rm for the next cycle.

WTG on that squat PR and fight through that last bench.  May not have been pretty, but it's a completed gym lift at least.
