06/22/2018 - Bike at Work

Biked 25.1 miles in 1:26:03, 17.5 mph average speed.  Good ride today.  Weather cooled down some, and the winds were much milder than earlier in the week.   My riding buddy is going in for a foot problem on Monday, so I may be solo for a while.

Until there is one standard for the sport that spans all feds each and every record is tainted. Stepping up to the platform was always a way to keep me motivated more than anything else. I see DT's point on the ridiculousness of the records because it is. Powerliftingwatch does a good job of sorting the data except it misses the key point - all else equal, which it is not.

DB Hammer Curls   3x15 @ 20

DB BOLR   3x10 @ 15

DB Shrugs   15-50, 15-55, 15-60

Bodyweight: ??? Pounds (Down ??? pounds from 221.0 on 5/30)

Workout Duration: 57:46.15 mm:ss (with 1:00 rest between sets)

I had a good workout at Untamed Strength with my son.  I took the day off from work because we had to drop my wife off for a medical procedure.  We were looking to kill some time while waiting for her, so I talked him into going to the gym with me.  I got in my normal workout while he was able to shadow me and do his lifts with kettle bells and dumbbells.  Alan was cool and let me bring him in there so that was nice.

Wednesday nights sleep study went well. I didn't think I was going to sleep a wink, having 20 wires stuck all over as well as a CPAP machine stuck on my face. But oddly I slept really well! I cannot wait for the results and hopefully I'll have a CPAP machine asap. From the sleep study I went for blood work and an ECG.

Anyways, training and nutrition has been the poop, all the poop.

 Happy Friday!

The more I think about it, the more I think the article is really a waste of time.  It comes across like powerlifting is a huge fad taking over the nation with millions of participants and that simply isn't true.  If it were there'd be more PL gyms and maybe a few less PF type gyms.  I live in a relatively large city and there are 2 PL gyms in Orlando, one is truly only a PL gym in a cramped tiny warehouse and the other has some monster pl'ers but they are financially supported by the xfit potion of the gym.  The majority of PL'ers at competitions are repeat customers.  I can understand his stance, but I think it's pretty meaningless and an attempt to belittle others that aren't the nations top ranked lifters. And if anyone has EVER spoken with another lifter about a meet, you'll pretty much always discuss the numbers. Fuck, after the last meet I attended I think everyone in the crowd should get a trophy for not dying in the ungodly hot and stuffy gym we were jammed in.
Lol FWIW I am the only powerlifter I know in my city
