That is a pretty interesting hip shift with that 315. Has it happened to you in the past or just a one time thing?

That 405 pull looked strong and and props to "One". It's one of my all time favorite Metal songs.

I've never noticed it or felt it before so hoping it was a one time thing.  The bar came off the hooks feeling a bit off so I actually wonder if I wasn't really centered under it.  Either way yeah it was odd, new and hopefully a one time thing.  Gotta love some Metallica :)

eta - I just watched it again and I was definitely setting up with it leaning a bit as well.  I didn't notice at the time.  Too focused on not fucking it up I guess lol

That's why I like recording my sets cause you get to see where shit went wrong.

He stole it from BBMed :P

Honestly that's 2 weeks in a row I'm gotten 315 down and back up again and felt good with it.  Last weeks rep was better because there wasn't any tilting but for the first time ever I have no worries about 3 plates.  It's a great feeling lol

Bit of a shift on that squat. Not a big deal. You got the rep and you didn't get hurt. It's not a consistent thing either. 3 pps is awesome. I've got that coming up soon for reps. We'll see how that goes. Looks like you're making some pretty good progress. Well done.

Amazing how fast things get unmanageable isn't it? 10 lbs might not seem like much when the last weight went so well but holy crap.... Nice work though. Sounds like you're making some pretty good progress if things are feeling lighter. Can't wait to see the meet results. Should be good!

Quick and slightly abbreviated session today with some good progress in there.

Comp Deads

1@9, 3x3@8

1 x 415 rpe 8.5 went slow but definitely had another rep in there. First reps are generally pretty slow

3 x 375
3 x 365

Touch and Go Bench
3@9, 3x3@8

3 x 235 (rep pr) closer to a 9.5

3 x 205
3 x 205

Front Squats
2 sets of 5

5 x 135

All done.  Had to get some stuff done and back at work tonight too.

Good session regardless.  Thrilled with the 415.

Good looking workout Dave.  It's looking good lately man, like you're on the path to blow away your old total from last year.  It's going to be exciting to watch the results. :)

Slingshot Day

1 x 135
1 x 185
1 x 215
1 x 235
1 x 245
1 x 265
1 x 275
0 x 285

John has recommended a slingshot overload day with just some singles.  No more than 10.  I was going to go for 285 which would be a pr but man that was tough getting it off the hooks and after a couple of attempts just didn't feel comfortable with it.  I did get it off the hooks but that was as far as I took it today. This was my third time with 275 and it's feeling pretty easy now  Not sure why 285 was giving me so many fits,

Nice work Dave. It's in your head man. I know that shit is heavy but it's the mental side. Bench has never been tough mentally for me but squats freak me the fuck out. It'll happen though.

Heavy weight definitely is a mental game that sometimes just fucks us up even though the strength is there.

Nice go at it though nonetheless. Next time smash that shit.

Yesterday's session was cut short.  I've been battling some sort of ebola over the last couple of days and guess I was pretty dehydrated yesterday.  Worked up to a 325 single which moved fairly quick but started getting a cramp in my left leg on that lift and everytime I unracked a bar after that it started again.  I'm going to make up the 2x2 squats that I didn't do tomorrow after I bench.  I decided not to push them after that.  The 325 felt decent and a pr tie although it was a touch high.  I did my 2 count paused bench after that and got a pr with 225x2 and did 205x3 for 2 sets at rpe 8 after.  Skipped paused deads as well.  Was having trouble with leg drive yesterday as well so just walked away.  Feel okay today so far.
